Champagne for the feet. @vor.shoes 3A Champagnerweiss. Such a beauty. It’s incredible what @j.rohwerk and @andreasklingseisen are doing. Sneakers, designed and crafted in Munich. Hand-manufactured by @hummelundhummel . For me the 3A is the best shoe I’ve ever had, no Jordan or 4D can keep up with them. This is perfection. #ad #selfpaid

It’s soup season. And @frederikbillebrahe ‘s recipe for his chicken broth with beans and vegetables is a perfect alternative to the standard chicken soup. I love the combination of the soft chicken (which I put back into the broth) with the artichokes, beans, cime di rapa within the intense broth.

One whole weekend @tornqvistcoffee . Three days in a row because sadly it’s the last week of this coffee spot which brought coffee to another level. Perfection in every detail: hospitality, passion, cleanliness, a feeling of community and last but not least the craft of coffee. Linus and team, thanks for everything! Every visit, we had a great chat – not just about coffee but also food, wine, beer, cycling... Törnqvist as we know it will be missed but even more I am excited what will follow. It will be great that’s for sure! Kiitos Linus!

Hamburg. 10/10/2020 @bistro_carmagnole . Oysters with buttermilk, trout tartar, morello sorbet, pike-perch with lentils, flank steak with wild broccoli, delicious red wine, awesome service, laughing, loving, no Nazis!

This is it. Last Sunday I was walking around Düsseldorf with one of my oldest friends: the opera singer @manos.bariton . At the “Reuterkaserne” (coincidence? I don’t think so) we stumbled upon this incredibly beautiful Citroën Acadiane. Basically a delivery truck version of the 2CV, or the “Ente” as it is called in Germany. In the back was a mattress and some cabinets. I fell in love immediately. — #citroen #citroen2cv #2cv #acadiane #citroenacadiane #citroenente #asundaycarpic

We had incredible food in France but one place really made a long lasting impression on us. La Récré in Les Vans, in the South of the Ardèche National Park. Loïs Lacoste is running the place with passion and lots of knowledge about wines, especially natural wines. Every wine Loïs suggested was delicious. Very similar to Margaux Laborde’s food. The self-taught chef (information i found on @lefooding ) makes tapas-style dishes, some local specialties, some international inspirations. Squash, hummus, faux-filet de Bœuf, tacos, ravioli, escargots, salad of cucumber, caviar d’aubergine, risotto from various grains, pork belly, caramel and almond tart with mascarpone... this is just a selection we were able to enjoy in 3 nights. We actually spent 3 out 5 nights we spent in Les Vans at @larecre.lesvans . We should have made 5 nights though. If La Récré was in Düsseldorf, it would be our second home (next to @cucina_vitale and @em.brass of course). Loïs & Margaux, we cannot wait to be back!

Our latest stop in France. One night at @lamaisondambronay . Nathalie transformed the old elementary school into a lovely 4-bedroom BnB. It’s the perfect cliché of France. But in the most charming way. With tons of old school furniture and accessories and Nathalie serves a lovely breakfast in the former school cafeteria. An old classroom was transformed into a co-working / workshop space. And in the school yard: a perfect Citroën “deux chevaux” or “Ente” (duck) how we call it in Germany. By the way, my favorite car.

Our third stop. In Les Vans. The breathtaking @le35mai . Muriel and Eric welcomed us for 5 nights. In the early 2000’s the couple bought the house and garden as a dump. And they imagined something beautiful, something special. And that is exactly what they created. After 3 years of renovating (most of the things by their own hands), they created a place where @pia_lotta and I would immediately move in. The space is designed perfectly, antiques combined with selected design furnitures, and added with beautiful funny accessories (like the concreted garden gnomes). But not enough Muriel and Eric run the whole place with 5+1 room on their own, and even bake sourdough bread, make small crêpes and ferment yoghurt for breakfast. Saying ‘au revoir’ wasn’t easy we truly left a piece of our heart in the lovely village of Les Vans. But we will come back for sure, sooner than later. Merci pour ces magnifiques vacances, Muriel et Eric!

Our second accommodation in France. Eight beautiful nights at Tilly’s and Will’s @domainedecapies in Pomy, Occitanie. We stayed at one of their gîtes “Étoile”. A three story house with two bedrooms, a great kitchen and the perfect terrace for breakfast, dinner, bbq, reading a book on the sofa or hanging in the hammock. Tilly and Will and their two sons were amazing hosts with lots of suggestions for the area: food, wine, natural swimming spots... They have a lovely bar and barn where they host events like their regular pizza evening (delicious) and e.g. the wine tasting we joined. The most amazing thing: the incredible views where you almost have the feeling the whole valley including the wine-yards are yours...

Remembering our first stop during our France vacation. The lovely and amazing @maison_et_atelier in Crouy-en-Thelle, one hour before Paris. A bed&breakfasting in a former stud farm with 2 rooms and one atelier, where we stayed. We left home on Thursday after work and on Friday we worked remotely from La Maison et l’Atelier. Clare was a very nice host and it’s amazing to see with how much love she runs the place. The most precious thing: her stunning garden with cypresses, Japanese maples, wild flowers and much more. For everyone in Western Germany a great place to get-away. Also worth for a weekend trip!
