Dancing at a "Dununba Ceremony" in Guinea.
This rhythm is called "Soko" and this particular style of dance is African Ballet Style.
This event was a marriage celebration for a sister of my amazing dance teacher Mabinty in Conakry. This Dununba exceeded my expectations displaying some of the best African ballet dancers in Guinea 🎶

During my time in Guinea, I had the opportunity to visit and stay in a beautiful little village called Kouya Sidia.
Kouya Sidia in located in the Faranah region of Guinea. It has a population of avout 1200 people. While there, I learned a traditional Maninka dance called "Den". This dance is a celebration dance for young girls, usually performed during the transition from the dry to rainy season.
It is such an honour to train/learn in depth about the beautiful creative traditions of this culture.
