Fiona Wing Progress at Ascham School
Works on the Fiona Wing extension continue to progress, with the building now taking its final form. The new facilities are being integrated with the existing heritage‑listed building, respecting its character while providing updated learning spaces. The project will soon transition to the internal fit‑out, with the school set to access the new facilities in the coming months.
Project Win – St Thomas More College, Student Hub
The Rohrig Team is proud to once again partner with Brisbane Catholic Education and Macksey Rush Architects to deliver the new Student Hub and refurbishment of the existing Student Services building at St Thomas More College.
Delivered over two stages, the four-storey Student Hub will provide a contemporary, multipurpose facility featuring a cafeteria, support services, and flexible learning spaces. A new link bridge will connect the hub to the existing Student Services building, which will be refurbished to create additional learning environments.
We look forward to delivering this exciting project and supporting the ongoing growth of the St Thomas More College community.
Project Completion | Moreton Bay College, Oriel Handley Hall
The Rohrig team is proud to have completed a major refurbishment of Oriel Handley Hall at Moreton Bay College, designed by Novum. The upgrade has transformed the hall into a modern, flexible space suitable for assemblies, school functions and community events.
Works included a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing hall, new bathroom amenities, canteen, a covered deck extension, and a striking perforated aluminium screen façade, along with associated external upgrades.
We’re pleased to see Oriel Handley Hall reimagined and ready to support learning, celebration and community connection well into the future.
Ground floor slab underway at Tweed Heads South
A significant milestone has been achieved at the new hospitality venue in Tweed Heads South, with 135m³ of concrete successfully poured for the hotel’s ground floor slab. The construction team is now progressing with two additional pours for the hotel’s ground floor, followed by the bottleshop slab, as momentum continues to build on site.
Great work from the team at St John’s College!
In collaboration with Hector Abrahams Architects, the refurbishment of the attic within the 38 & Menzies Wing is taking shape, transforming the space into 14 new student accommodation rooms, complete with a shared washroom and kitchenette.
With the slate roofing and dormers now complete, the team is gearing up for window installation as progress continues on site.
Rohrig Staff Meeting
As part of our regular staff meetings held across the business, it was great to see the Brisbane team come together recently to share key project updates, business‑critical information and take time to connect with colleagues from across the wider Rohrig team.
Design & Construction in Action – Ormiston College, Centre for Learning and Innovation
Following a fire that destroyed the original building in 2024, Rohrig rapidly progressed from make‑good works to a fully developed reconstruction plan. Leveraging our in‑house drafting and design management capabilities, we facilitated collaborative workshops to confirm updated space requirements, document changes, and progress council approvals.
This integrated approach accelerated decision‑making and delivery, enabling the Centre for Learning and Innovation to be reinstated and returned to operation for the College community.
A Strong Start for the Year 7 Centre!
Works have now commenced at the Year 7 Centre at Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar School, with the ground floor slab prepped and ready for pouring. A great milestone as the build gets underway.
Bridging Old and New!
Connection was central to The Commons project at Oakhill College. A key feature of the new building is the glazed canopy linking it to the existing Adrian Building, creating a seamless connection between spaces. Along with two link bridges, the canopy transforms the space between buildings into a functional, light-filled covered outdoor learning area — enhancing movement, shelter and connectivity across the campus.
The green roof at The Illawarra Grammar School’s Hoskins Building is coming to life.
With solar panels and planting now being installed, the green roof will not only enhance biodiversity but also deliver real environmental benefits — from improved air quality to thermal insulation and water management.
Major Milestone for Kado Residences, Palm Beach!
The team recently reached a major milestone with the successful pour of the basement slab for Kado Residences, Palm Beach.
Spanning the full footprint of the building, the slab forms the foundation for the structure. With this key stage now complete, the tower will now begin to rise.
Student Visit at Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School
The Rohrig team recently welcomed students from all year levels for a sneak peek at the exciting campus upgrades underway. These upgrades include the new Administration area, classrooms, and the future Year 1 learning spaces.
Students asked thoughtful and insightful questions, showing great enthusiasm for their new learning environment. We look forward to seeing them enjoy these new facilities in the near future.
