Love challenging myself as a Songwriter ✍️🏽 & while working on "The Grand Escape EP" (now on all streaming sites) I was feeling extra inspired to experiment with different genres of music. The idea for this song "Need It", was to take a Toxic Relationship story, but disguise it as "Pop" 😂. So think, TheWeeknd- "Wicked Games", ThirdEyeBlind- "Semi-charmed Life", & a splash of KatyPerry. And... boom 💥... I wrote this roller-coaster 🤷🏽♀️ lol. If u want me to give more lore, or do this for another song, let me know 🖤🤟🏼
If anyone wanted to know how I feel/felt about modern women in HipHop this is it right here. My 2 favorite female rappers in one pic. Remy pen game was crazy 🔥🔥💯. I wish her 'mainstream' career woulda went further. But wut Cardi B is doing is amazing to see as well. Cardi makes fun/good music that highlights her character. She is also showing love to the ppl around her & who came before her. Her mktg team is grinding as well.
Even as an artist myself, I appreciate that I still enjoy artists & music as strongly as I did when was a kid lol. The joy of it never "died" for me like it has other artists at times. Ima always be a part of the culture & a genuine fan of HipHop 🖤💯. Happy to see these 2 link like this & rep for each other 🫶🏼.
