Madonnaโs โLiquid Loveโ is a dreamy, unreleased electronic ballad she recorded with producer William Orbit during the sessions for her 2000 album Music. The track has a floating, hypnotic atmosphere that sits somewhere between the spiritual electronica of Ray of Light and the more futuristic sound of Music. Although it was never officially released, the song became a cult favorite among fans after leaking online in 2006, partly because of its lush production and emotional vulnerability. Madonna later said she removed it from the album because it gave her โthe wrong tingles,โ which only added to its mystique. The Leon Suites are a collection of experimental recordings created by David Bowie and Brian Eno in 1994 during the early development of 1. Outside (1995). Bowie and Eno used unconventional methods, including character-driven concepts and Enoโs โOblique Strategies,โ to shape a dark, dystopian future and featuring him performing multiple characters through altered voices. Musically, the work is highly abstract and genre-blurring - spanning experimental rock, post-rock, radio drama, dark jazz, funk rock, and post-industrial. It stands as one of the most ambitious pieces of Bowieโs 1990s output. Upon submitting the demos, they were infamously rejected by the record company which led Bowie to reshape the material into the more structured yet still highly inaccessible Outside album, leaving the original suites as a legendary glimpse into his most experimental creative period. The catsuit however, is custom made by Simon Preen and the glasses are Balenciaga.
Starpeace is a 1985 concept album by Yoko Ono, designed to spread a message of peace around the world as an opposition to Ronald Reaganโs โStar Warsโ missile defense system. As with most Ono albums, it did not chart extensively but the single release of โHell in Paradiseโ reached #16 on the US dance charts.
