Happy staff appreciation week! Our #ProStart students made over 150 decorated sugar cookies for our teachers, principals, admin team, counselors, nurses, paraeducators, janitors, and everyone who helps keep our building running! 🧑🏽🏫🍎👩🏻🏫🍏
Our #ProStart class is taking a tour around the United States, trying cuisine from all over the country! This week, we learned about the BBQ Belt, and completed a gallery walk featuring six regional barbecue sauces, with ribs, fries and tots 🔥
Our season is over…but I’m already plotting for next year. Thank you to this special team, your work continues to pave the path for future pirates to be able to experience this life changing event! On our last day, we got to take a train to Washington D.C. and see the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Martin Luther King Jr. memorial, the Washington monument, and so much more.
Who wants to do this next year and go for the trophy? 🏆 😎 I can’t wait to get started!

NPSI might be over, but we will hold onto these memories forever! We are so so incredibly proud of these students and all of the hard work they put into this project. Shoutout to our senior, Hailey, who has now attended two National events and helped pave the way for future pirates to have this same once-in-a-lifetime experience ❤️ Shoutout to our amazing mentor Garth Hicks @wildsagebistro who helped make all of this possible and volunteered so much time helping coach our kids. Shoutout to @hillyardbuilt , our students looked fantastic during awards dinner thanks to your generous contribution and support! 🥹 Shoutout to our WA travel buddies from Bonnie Lake, we loved being here with you and cheering you on and hope to see you again next year (let’s get that Washington win 🏆). And finally, shoutout to everyone who donated to our Venmo to help fund our trip and fun activities! We are endlessly thankful for everyone who has been a part of our journey. 🙏🏻
John R. Rogers High School represented the state of Washington today at the National ProStart Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland in the management category. They spent over six months on this Hillyard-inspired concept, focused on the rich railroad history of our community. They did so great and we are SO incredibly proud. ❤️🥹
We had so much fun on our second day of #NPSI! We got to cheer on our fellow Washington school Bonney Lake as they did amazing in the culinary competition. We went to the National Aquarium, had a great dinner, and got through our best run through yet (thanks Bonney Lake for helping us!). We compete tomorrow, wish us luck!!! @wahospitality #prostart
