Everything starts with paper and pencil. For Violent Night, we wanted Santa to be perceived as a real person with a real cultural background. His transition into the Saint Nick carried his Viking ancestry. One of the most iconic part of that heritage was the Sleigh. The sleigh was thought to be an adaptation of Nicomundo The Red’s warship. Filled with runes and the traditional figurehead. The scenic piece had to have a specific weight to work on the rig. Everything was build out of foam and aluminum with the beautiful job of the art department, construction and paint to put all together and give the textures the piece deserved. #violentnight #christmas #santaclaus #makingmovies #productiondesigner #productiondesign #construction #scenicpainting #movies #films #universalpictures #movie #cinema #davidharbour #johnleguizamo

The moment I read the script for @ViolentNight , I had this idea of building this organic Mansion set where we could flip all the rooms into another and even a second floor. There were used interchangeable wallpaper panels, wild flats and alcoves, wild windows, a complex map of dressing and lighting for the hallways. The goal was to build a set that not only was unique to the story and characters but to keep cast and crew indoors minimizing the travelling in the Winnipeg’s winter. The result of all the departments hard work is a huge and incredible set that looks lavish but also cavernous and threatened when it needs to be. These are my first sketches for the mansions floors and how they ended up being built and the flip overs. Not a lot changed from the original plan, just evolved to add the new beats and sets. #violentnight #santaclaus #davidharbour #productiondesigner #productiondesign #makingfilms #movie #movies #design #architecture #drawing #project #interiordesign #films #film #visual #storyteller #visualstorytelling

Sacred Heart rebuild in its early stages: just flats, doors, and a bit of paint. In only six weeks, every department came together to transform a bare space into over 30,000 square feet of something extraordinary.

My favourite fantasy this season is The Price Is Right. It took an incredible amount of effort to pull off such a smooth, seamless gag on camera—from the models to the camera work. A true example of teamwork at its finest. No AI was used in creating this gag—just pure craft, creativity, and collaboration ❤️ #productiondesign #makingmovies #movies #scrubs #tv

The film noir fantasy drew inspiration from the old black-and-white sitcoms, where set colors were chosen for how they’d read through the camera — all about luminance, not the naked eye. In person, those sets could look jarring and mismatched. But through the lens, all those clashing tones collapsed into a perfect balance of light and dark. That tension was exactly the vibe we were after. To deepen the world, every element of the dressing was pulled from the 1940s — furniture, graphics, all of it. An incredible effort from everyone involved, especially @lizzb0t and her brilliant team. #productiondesign #design #makingmovies #scrubs #series

Then and now. This photo is from the mid-90s — an interior design show where I had the privilege of collaborating with the incredibly talented @rangel_arquitetura and @bea_ramalho . It wasn’t an easy road. But it was filled with passion, purpose, and some truly remarkable people who believed in me before I fully believed in myself. Every challenge was worth it. Every detour led somewhere meaningful. I’m beyond grateful to be stepping into this next chapter with the support of @creativeartistsagency . The best is still ahead. ✨

For this flashback build, we went OG Scrubs and turned a swing space inside our hospital into a college poker room party — Easter eggs hidden throughout, and of course Rowdy making its presence. @ranwins and his brilliant mind had a perfect feeling for this scene and its blocking. The whole room is built around one idea: JD and Turk always “merged “. Each character leaves their mark, but so do I — the @fishbonesoldier poster is in there to represent the good fight.

The wrestling fantasy on episode 3 of Scrubs was incredibly fun to create. It all started with a simple logo sketch for Sacred Heart Wrestling, which grew into designing the set at the scale we needed to truly impact the audience. The cherry on top was the practical screens featuring the video intros edited by our fantastic playback team for our “fighters.” Seeing it all come together on screen is fantastic. Amazing work by every department involved.
