I think this day is going to hurt for the foreseeable future. Not a single day has passed where I don’t re-live every second of that last evening, in every vivid detail possible. So many what-if’s, so much guilt. Something that will hopefully sting less with time, as I have nothing but beautiful memories of my childhood 🕰️
I’m not one for soppy posts, but I think it’s important for people to remember that it’s not always sunshine and rainbows like IG might suggest 🌈
Happy fathers day pops - I will be thinking of you a little extra while I turn myself inside out in the mountains 🪽❤️🩹
Looking back on an insane weekend at Gravel World Champs 🌎 🇮🇹
Words cannot describe the chaos that occurred in that first hour, but so much fun was had navigating through the carnage of ~230 elite men fighting for position on narrow gravel roads, usually blind from all the dust 🔥
I unfortunately had to choose between hitting another rider or a wall on a descent about 60km in, and for some reason my brain chose the wall, at speed too 🧱
Broke my helmet and hurt my head a fair bit in the process, but managed to collect myself and finish 82nd behind some very fast boys from around the world 🙏🇿🇦
*special thanks to the one Finnish rider who stopped to ask me if I was still breathing, before carrying on 😂🫁*
The nature of the course and crazy passionate fans on the steepest climbs I have ever ridden are something you won't find in many places, and that day on the bike will definitely remembered for a very long time! 🙌⛰️

An incredible experience nonetheless, and an awesome setting to host a bike race 🤌

Eventful day out @heraldcycletour on Sunday! After a frustrating race at road nationals last weekend, it was nice to actually be in the mix 🙌
Rolled the dice a few times to try get away, mostly with @cronje_beukes 🤝,to try avoid getting drilled in a bunch sprint but no luck 🎲
Happy to finish P7 amongst some very strong lads in what did in fact end up being a bunch sprint 😂😤
Zambia 2025 - a special place and some very special people 🦛
When I watched my dad leave this earth here a year ago, for the longest time I wished I could have left with him. Heading back there recently to try reframe some painful memories is something that future Rogs will thank me for 🫶

I think it’s taken a few days to process those 7 days of racing at the inaugural @gravel_burn 🤯
A mixture of insane weather, a stacked international men’s field and quite possibly the most bizarre mechanicals I’ve had so far made it a week to remember forever ❄️
If you had told me last week Saturday that I’d finish 18th on GC, with some time-costly issues included, I would have probably taken it with a smile - so I can be proud of my ride, and I know my dad would be too 🪽

Stage 7 of Gravel Burn. 🔥 Gwanishi to Shamwari. What a week! After 7 days and 800km of wild racing through one of the most beautiful parts of the country, the race rolled into Shamwari. A fitting end to the first edition of what will be an iconic bike race.
A day to forget for Rogan, who had some bad luck out on route and had to ride solo for most of the day! However, he still managed to finish the week in 18th Overall in GC, and has to be the highest placed working class hero of the event! 🏆
Thank you to everyone for following along. A huge thank you to the team behind the scenes who kept all of the riders going and assisted in keeping equipment in check - you know who you are. ❤️

Stage 6 of Gravel Burn. 🔥 Merino to Gwanishi. A neutralized stage due to extreme weather on the route. A day that had it all. Strong winds, insane heat and even some hail out there.

Tomorrow, it is the final day of the innaugeral @gravel_burn ! It’s going to be all action.

Stage 5 of Gravel Burn. 🔥 Blaauwater to Merino. A massive 137km day where bunch racing and tactics no doubt played a part, but ultimately it was the attack of one of the world best cyclists, @tompidcock that decided the stage!
Rogan once again held his own with the big dogs (look closely at the pics), finishing in 17th on the stage and moving into 20th in the GC.
A big day which was tough on man and machine.

Stage 4 of Gravel Burn. 🔥 Blaauwater back to Blaauwater. A challenging route today, all on gravel roads.

Rogan had another great day finishing 17th on the stage, and maintaining his 21st position in GC! 3 more days of brutal but beautiful racing is ahead.
