How do you begin to describe one of the most beautiful days of your life? Maybe I'll start with the weather: it was a cold and rainy November day in London and
@enidsaville insisted on keeping her jacket off for the pictures (taken by the incredibly talented
@erinhopkinsweddings , who you should totally hire if you ever need a wedding photographer!). I just kept thinking all day, in this wild, wide world, with its infinite paths and possibilities, did somebody really decide that they would like to spend their whole, precious life with me? Alice, I'm very glad you did decide that because I would like that too, very much.
And then, we get to stand up and get to say that before our friends and families? What a privilege! There are just too many people to thank and to tag but to everyone who helped to celebrate our love, to offer support, to do readings and speeches, to laugh, to cry, to sing, to dance, to come all the way from Ibiza, Amsterdam, Venice, bloody MELBOURNE ā words can't describe how much that meant to me. Family ā of the traditional and the chosen kind ā is everything. And to Mum, Dad, Charles and Hannah, and to my Australian friends ā you were in my head and my heart the whole time and I cannot wait until we get to celebrate all over again under the Melbourne sun.
I'll end this soppiness in a moment! But before I do, I just want to say that being allowed to get married is a right that I don't take for granted. Massive, massive respect and thanks to every single person who has fought for LGBTQI+ marriage. So far, it's going pretty well, I'd say. š³ļøāš
