21.05 | Fotomuseum | Roffa Mon Amour + Fotomuseum: Blik op de Stad 🏙️
This programme is in Dutch 🇳🇱
Who gets to shape the image of a city and who gets left out?
On Thursday, 21 May at 19:30, together with @nlfotomuseum , we dive into how Rotterdam is seen, framed, and felt today.
During Blik op de Stad, we screen Fantoomwijk (2023) by @ravi.sandberg - an urgent, experimental and unsettling short about the Tweebosbuurt neighbourhood, demolished to make way for luxury housing.
We follow up with two panel discussions featuring local and international photographers, makers, and residents, unpacking how cities are shaped and perceived both inside and out.
The program is part of Rotterdam in focus and was developed in collaboration with design agency @concrete___blossom / @tokosandbodegas .
(A valid entrance ticket is required to visit the Fotomuseum exhibitions)

Roffa Mon Amout tips: Hysteria at @kinorotterdam
On May 29, @kinorotterdam hosts a special screening of Hysteria (2025), followed by a conversation with writer and director Mehmet Akif Büyükatalay.
Premiered at the Berlinale, this tense and layered thriller explores prejudice, identity, and the representation of “the Other” in Europe.
Combining suspense with sharp social commentary, it challenges dominant narratives while keeping you on the edge of your seat for the entire runtime.
Roffa Mon Amour + Dakendagen: The Last Year of Darkness 🪩
On Thursday, 4 June, we’re teaming up once again with @dakendagen010 at the P-garage Mobypark for the screening of The Last Year of Darkness.
The Last Year of Darkness (2023) by Benjamin Mullinkosson is a love letter to a club that holds a special place in the hearts of Chengdu (China)’s youth.
It captures the profound lives of a group of clubbers, DJs, and performance artists frequenting the beloved club Funky Town. From neon light-colored euphoric dance scenes to deeper and darker moments of loneliness and longing, the documentary gently shows their desire to create a place for themselves.

Green flags in film characters 💚
Ok ok, enough with the toxicity. We talked about red flags, but what happened to all those good people your mum wants you to marry?
We thought about some green flag film characters we should actually take as examples:
⏾ The Maries in Daisies (1966) by Vera Chytilová
⏾ Tom from (500) Days of Summer (2009) by Marc Webb
⏾ Calum in Aftersun (2022) by Charlotte Wells
⏾ Louise in 100 Seasons (2023) by Giovanni Bucchieri
⏾ Frances in Frances Ha (2012) by Noah Baumbach
Do you agree?
Red flags in film characters 🚩
Have you ever fallen in love with a film character and thought, " Ouch, he/she/they are such a red flag?"
Whether they are bad boys, manipulators, guitar players (you're my wonderwallllllllll), drug addicts, or self-centered people, we all fell for at least one toxic film character, such as:
🚩 Mark Renton in Trainspotting
🚩 Kyle in Lady Bird
🚩 Vinz in La Haine
🚩 Lai Yiu-Fai in Happy Together
🚩 Elin in Fuckinf Åmål
🚩 Kiki in Lesbian Space Princess
What's your red flag film character crush?
