With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Leroy Roan Higgins, who was born in St. Mary and passed away in Kingston Jamaica on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the age of 77. Leroy was the beloved son of the late Icylin Constantina Higgins and the late Ernal Higgins. He leaves behind his children Arlene, Ryan, Roen, and Tamara, and a proud legacy of 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He proudly served as a veteran in the Jamaican Army and later dedicated many years of service as a Mechanical Engineering Technician at Air Jamaica and an Aviation Maintenance Specialist for another company. He will be remembered by his siblings Deanna, Marlene, Dawn, Marva Duffus, Fitzarthur, and Earl, as well as his extended family, nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues. On his way to the hospital, his personal belongings, including his phone and wallet, went missing. We are reaching out to members of the Jamaican Army community, former Air Jamaica and aviation colleagues, his church family, and anyone who knew him. Feel free to reach out with any information, memories, or photos that can help us honor him properly. We sincerely appreciate the help and support of the Jamaican community during this time. Please email us for updates regarding memorial and funeral arrangements. For the messages I received since Monday, thank you. — The Higgins Family

IN-Coming Testimony ↕️ Doing the Master Guide training while completing a Master’s program was .. WILD. I started Pathfinders as a pre-teen but never finished because of life... In 2014, I attempted to become a Master Guide while in university, with a young child & a disconnect. The two things I said I would NEVER do again.. (Master Guides and a Master's - because of obstacles - fighting forces that made me say BUN DAT!) I completed 🎓 What I know now is this: I was called to serve. And I emphasize called. You can try to run like Jonah.. but trust me. Obey! I started this journey the very same week I began my Master’s program in 2023. There were moments I asked myself, “What was I thinking?” But I knew.. this was never about me. This weekend, at our consecration service, we arrived. We graduated. We received our jackets and upgraded our scarves. Do I remember every knot, every drill, every way to build shelter in a moment of need? Honestly no, not everything. But I remember who I am. I remember that service is not easy. That calling is not convenient. And that obedience often stretches us far beyond comfort. If you notice my badge on my shoulder, it’s not a lack of sewing skills. It’s a reminder that when disruption comes, we can still hang on by a thread. I almost didn't make it to my grad because another life disruption.. This season has been hard, try to run me off the track 🔁 But God is BIGGER than the madness ☝🏾 Thank you to all my MIT peers, now fellow Master Guides who looked out for each other. The true essence of No MIT left behind. May we continue to seek the path, move onward and forward, and remain committed to the mission, the Kingdom, and global truth. Thank you to my mentors who prayed for me and helped me reach the finish line through personal knots, tears, and joy. We are called. And we serve. 🫡 For now, I stand at ease. S/O to honorable mentions, missing from the photos. Sister B was my director in the early ’90s and planted seeds that still bear fruit. And to my aunt, a fellow Master Guide from the 1970s, (im rocking her vintage scarf) who showed up both days. Your presence meant more than words can say ❤️

We’ve shared so many gigs, yet so few pics together 🎶✨ The 👑 of Steel Pan — Fatima. What an honor to share the stage at this year’s Rip The Runway. A beautiful tribute .. from celebrating the life of Egbert Gaye a few years ago - to honoring his legacy through The Community Contact. The rhythm continues, the legacy lives on. 🖤🥁 #YouShowedUp #OneSweetDay My skirt @emmelinefashion
