Zara wins an extra special treat based on her likes or dietary requirements as well as her polaroid proudly on display on our 2026 ‘best doggos’ wall of fame. Her owner will receive a free hot beverage of their choice - mainly for being blessed with the opposable thumbs that enables the ability to take a photo on a smart phone.
As the name suggests, this is a competition we run monthly… to be in with a chance to win:
🐾own a dog (or borrow a friend’s)
🐾use your opposable thumbs to take a photo of your pooch at your next visit to Rodney’s Cafe
🐾donate minimum £1 to the brilliant animal charity @animalsindistress

There are a couple of pairs in this month - so if you are voting for a duo, you are voting for the 2 dogs together under the same number.
We’ll tot up the votes at 10pm on 1st May and announce the winner on the 2nd.

Springing in with a new special… toasted bread topped with sweet pickled cucumbers and tangy whipped feta, sprinkled with fresh dill and drizzled with olive oil 🤤. Perfect marriage of sharp and sweet.

Suggested donations for any of the plants is £5 - pop the cash in the Animals in Distress cash tin, or use the QR code on the tin to donate by card online.
These money plants are so fat and full of life, you’ll make your riches back in no time - chuck in some good karma for helping out needy animals and you’re basically guaranteed to win the next euro millions rollover.

Remember Ula? Of course you do, how could anyone forget an expression like that! Ula was the winner of January’s #dogofthemonthcompetition and she popped in recently to collect her prize, extra tasty dried venison sausages.
Winning the title may have gone to Ula’s head a bit as she made sure we stopped service so she could show off her new trick, ‘slappy slappy hand tap’ (shhh, she doesn’t need to know that it’s been around for centuries and everyone else calls it paw 🤫).

Milo can now stretch out and relax (well, kind of) and bask in the glory of being voted this month’s top dog in Bovey. And of course, winners deserve a prize, so we’ll be presenting him with an extra tasty treat based on his likes and / or dietary requirements. As is usual, his human will also receive a free hot beverage of their choice.

She’s not only won the hearts and captured the minds of the general public, but she’s won herself an extra tasty treat based on her likes and / or dietary requirements. As is usual, her human will also receive a free hot beverage of their choice.
