Logging some miles on Angeles Crest Highway with @zayneemory tonight in @bearangel88 1953 Pre-A Porsche 356 before he drives it from LA to the Bay Area tomorrow morning. Such a fun car to drive with the 260 hp Emory @rothsport_racing engine and @tractiveusa suspension.
Today we had 50 PCA members visit us for a tour so I thought I would give you guys a virtual walk-through now that everyone’s gone. Hope you have a great weekend. @emorymotorsports
What an incredible spring day for the 5th Veterans Tour around the island with Audrain Motorsport. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the day so special. We hope the people of Newport enjoyed seeing these incredible automobiles, many over 100 years old, grace the streets once again. The smiles, conversations, and memories shared throughout the day are what make events like this so meaningful.
The greatest thing about being a father is to witness the blessing of motherhood. For nearly 28 years I have watched this amazing woman be a mom and now to see that transition to her being grandmother AKA “Mimi” is the greatest thing ever! Thank you, @amy_emory for your selfless dedication to our family…. And your example of love, compassion, and stability. You complete this family and are the glue that keeps us all moving in the same direction. I love you with my whole heart.
A few years ago, @rodemory was kind enough to walk me through every detail of what goes into an Emory Special. How they take a Porsche 356, strip it to bare metal, and somehow manage to fit the heart and drivetrain of a 964 underneath. I listened. I asked a lot of questions, probably way too many if you know me. 😅 I was fascinated.
I have been following @drewhafner on Instagram for a while, and when I finally had the chance to meet him in LA, I asked if I could see the workshop. He didn't hesitate. 🤘
Walking through the shop only deepened my appreciation for what this family-run business does. Vintage tools next to modern precision equipment. Bare metal chassis lined up in various stages of transformation, every single one in a quality that is hard to put into words. The metalwork alone is worth the trip. Hand-shaped panels, old-school methods, and a level of detail that borders on obsession. Three generations of knowledge passed down through one family, and you feel it in every corner of that shop. 🦅
I am not just impressed. I am thankful. Thankful that Rod took the time years ago to explain it all, and thankful that Drew opened the door and let me see it with my own eyes.
What they build at Emory Motorsports is not just industry-leading. It is the standard. ✌️
Be driven.
They say you should never meet your idols? Bullshit.
Hardly anyone has rewritten the rules of the Porsche 356 game like the guy who inspired and influenced me like crazy almost two decades ago — @rodemory
And then you show up here, and somehow you get the honor of this guy taking two hours out of his day to personally hang out with you and your friends. Unreal.
Thanks for an amazing day and everything, Rod!

We are @air__water in the Anaheim/merch building. Fun to share these three special cars today. 912 RSR, 356 RSR, and our latest Emory Outlaw coupe. Also don’t miss. The @james_shira silver speedster @optimabatteries display.
Rod Emory has been building the 356 Outlaw since before most people knew what an Outlaw was.
A third-generation Porsche builder who founded Emory Motorsports in 1996, Rod has spent nearly 30 years restoring original steel-bodied 356s to bare metal and rebuilding them with race and rally-inspired intentions, each one a collaboration between his family’s craft and a client’s vision. Over 180 builds. A four-year waiting list. And a reputation that reaches far beyond Southern California.
On April 25, the Emory Corral takes up residence in the Anaheim Building at Air|Water. Four cars, each one a different chapter of what the 356 and its bloodline can become.
A silver 1957 Speedster, on display in the Optima Batteries booth. An Oak Green Metallic 1958 Emory Outlaw that was just finished. And a Signal Yellow twin-turbo 356 RSR, because some Outlaws need more boost.
Then there is the fourth car. A top secret Aubergine 912 RSR project that’s yet to see the light of day.
Come find the corral on April 25. The Anaheim Building. Costa Mesa.
