The USS Cleveland is making its way to port in Cleveland and it will be coming as close to shore as possible May 9.
From the City of Rocky River: "We ask that residents come out and join in the festivities of watching the ship make its way along the shoreline of Lake Erie passing by Bradstreet’s Landing and Rocky River Park at approximately 10:00 am. Please arrive early as the times can change based on the weather. Due to limited parking at our Lakefront park, we encourage residents to walk or ride a bike to the parks. We will have approximately 500 free Honor Flags at each park to pass out to everyone to keep on a first come first served basis."
The ship will be commissioned on May 16 in Cleveland's North Coast harbor downtown. This will mark the first time in 250 years that a U.S. Navy warship will be commissioned in the State of Ohio.
Two weeks later and we're still smiling from our second Grown-Up Book Fair! We had over 400 attendees and gave away over 1200 books. Thank you for celebrating National Library Week with us!
A special thank you to the publishing companies who sent us books and @rrplfriends , @hoopladigital , @kanopy , and @overdrive.inc_ for partnering with us.
