It was a 20 camera prep. Meticulously organized and broken down by
@jonmarzolla something I always appreciate about Jon is if you’re on his job there are no questions about which camera goes where, what camera needs which lens or your shooting specs because dude has taken the time to do send you a fuckin diagram about it.
We hit the ground running that morning.
@logthemac @caitlin.n.rivera @jmmedina1 and myself worked fast and furiously to get it built and packed away. We never would’ve made it without them. 🙏🙏🙏 grateful to yall.
Got the van loaded and me and
@jmmedina1 peeled out of town. Atlanta was the destination. We gabbed it up for 4.5 hours. 5 mins away from our hotel a dog ran out in front of our camera van absolutely LOADED to the gills. I do everything I can to stop in time.
The dog disappeared from sight for a second and then we see it run out the other side unharmed. We can’t help but laugh about it because, what the fuck? We must’ve given that pup a haircut because I would’ve sworn I killed it.
Next day we load into the venue. If I thought the prep was fast and furious, it looked like a stroll through the park on horse tranquilizers compared to the shoot day.
The team in Atlanta was on point. Chase Shultz, Kirkpatrick Steven, (please tag them!)
@isabel_langdale worked miracles getting cameras into place, loaded up and ready to roll for show time. Not to mention making long runs down endless hallways to fetch gear when the plan changed. All without complaint.
My fellow firsts
@jmmedina1 and the legend, Chris Holloway helped me keep my head screwed on straight. There was a lot to manage, maintain and by the nature of the event plans needed to be flexible but these dudes made it seem effortless.
What a whirlwind. I didn’t stop to take but one photo of the build
@timyoder flew. We had a Hi8 camcorder mounted on top of a mini. Which was a fun build for me and Yoder to figure out.
Lastly, none of it would’ve been possible for me if it wasn’t for
@jourdanlinderman being super mom and juggling childcare while working herself so I could go down to Atlanta and fuck around for a few days. 😘😘😘
