@thegoodlemon pointed out that our last post was saying hello to 2022, so we thought it’d only be right to do the same thing to start sharing work and interesting design tidbits again.
👋👋👋 Hi and Happy New Year! We may have been quiet on Instagram for a while but it’s just because we’ve been heads down and working hard for our great clients. We can’t wait to show you more about what’s been cooking and what’s caught our eye as we’ve been masked, distanced, out, and about. The font in the image is the lovely Stonewall 50 from @feeldco . The design community has been releasing a lot of great fonts out into the world and we’ve been fiddling and experimenting with a whole lot of them.

We worked with The Interagency Gender Working Group to design and develop an About page that works to create more emotional resonance with their audiences. IGWG wanted us to create a user experience that felt more like a brochure than a formal summary of the organization. The illustrations came via @creativemarket vendor Tera Vector. We can - and do! - create illustrations in a range of styles, but sometimes the budget and the timeline mean that we need to create efficiencies. Customizable stock illustrations can help us meet our design goals while also giving the piece a unique look. We apply our illustrative and art director skill sets to make sure we pick a range of options for the client to check out! Plus, we get to support other illustrators!⠀

We started the week with a spirits label we like, so why not end it with one too. @catoctincreek 's branding refresh has always been a standard-bearer for label design, but the Octomalt label has intricacies, formality, & fun that take it to a whole other level. @tbspirits did the 2017 redesigned line of bottles, so we're figuring they did this too, but we're not sure.⠀

We designed & illustrated the Reflective Democracy Campaign’s recent report "Confronting the Demographics of Power: America’s Sheriffs." From wholeads.us (RDC’s website): “In the context of the COVID pandemic and increased calls for accountability in the criminal system, the Reflective Democracy Campaign tapped our data to craft a demographic profile of American sheriffs, who manage county jails and a wide range of law enforcement activities, yet operate with less oversight than local police chiefs or commissioners…. Our report explores the role of America’s sheriffs, the impact of extreme white male over-representation, and how voters can take steps to make change.” The report is a sobering, data-filled look at an institution that - we learned - often reports to no one but themselves.⠀

We came across this logo work for latch hook companies while sorting and cleaning a few things. The dots (mimicking the top of a yarn package) and the lettering for @shillcraft are great examples of something being both complex and simple at the same time.⠀

Huge thanks to the team at @dodocase for getting this *beautiful* iPad Pro case out to use in record time. We had a tech emergency that called for a new case and it was here before I could confirm that we needed it super quick. As always, their cases feel amazing and the pencil holder on the side is ::chef's kiss::. And if that wasn't reason enough to love them, they have been making masks and for each mask you buy they donate another to a place in need.
