At the @rockefellerinst AI Policy & Practice Forum, ILO Group’s @ashg_54 joined education, policy, and research leaders to move the AI conversation from theory to practice. Drawing from our work with @capregionboces and district leaders across New York, Ashley shared how systems can move beyond the hype and build the structures, relationships, and decision-making capacity needed to implement AI responsibly and effectively. She highlighted how a clear vision of local context, built upon robust community input is the foundation of effective AI governance in #K12. This is the work that we do every day with leaders across the country: helping systems turn AI from a fast-moving challenge into a disciplined, purpose-led strategy for students, educators, and communities

Thank you to the @rockefellerinst for having me as a guest on the Policy Outsider podcast. I was joined by political science scholar Dr. Robert Spitzer for an enlightening conversation on the history and legal intricacies involved with regulating guns. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did. /issue-area/ep-117-gun-laws-originalism/

Research shows that patients receiving medication-assisted treatment for opioid-use disorder are twice as likely to achieve long-term recovery as those who receive treatment without medication. Yet, throughout the United States, those in need of treatment often lack access to common opioid medications. Nearly 80 percent of all US counties have no opioid treatment programs and many licensed prescribers are not prescribing to capacity.⠀ ⠀ What is the reason for the treatment disconnect? This blog explores the fear and stigma among physicians, patients, and providers that prevent effective treatment from reaching those who need it. Read more at rockinst.org/blog

New episode of Policy Outsider is out! In "Vaping in Real Time", we discuss how the growth of vaping tobacco products in teens and the emergence of a vaping-related lung injury created what we now call the vaping crisis. The episode explores what actions local, state, and federal governments are taking to address the crisis and how their responses are complicated by unusual regulations surrounding vaping and marijuana.
