🔥 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟 𝗧𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 🔥 Is 𝗥𝗼𝗰𝗗𝘂𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗰 doable with a gravel bike? 🤔 That’s the question we got all the time! So this year, we decided to find out once and for all… 💥 We invited @isabellebeckers and her friend @micheljstn to test our tracks on their @ridley_bikes gravel bikes! And the verdict? 👉 “ 𝗬𝗘𝗦 - 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗱𝗼𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲! 𝗕𝗨𝗧 ... there are a few important things to keep in mind: * Go for wide, rough tyres — 40mm won’t cut it. Isabelle rode 2.1” @vittoriatires Mezcals – perfect choice! * Make sure your frame has enough clearance, especially for mud and rocks. * Low tyre pressure is key (she rode around 1.2 bar). * You’ll need skills, focus and endurance – this is 𝗡𝗢𝗧 for beginner gravel riders! * Choose your gearing wisely – steep climbs await… * Isabelle rode the @ridley_bikes Kanzo Adventure, a frame made for the 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 of gravel. 💪 Being in very good physical condition and well prepared is 𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 to enjoy Roc du Maroc safely and to the fullest. Riding it on a gravel bike makes the challenge even bigger — so 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱! ❗️For context: Isabelle has over five years of gravel experience and is a true die-hard cyclist — and even for her, this was a 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲! 💡 Important note: It’s 𝗻𝗼𝘁 our goal to turn Roc du Maroc into a gravel event — but rather to open this incredible adventure to as many passionate cyclists as possible, whether they ride MTB, E-MTB or gravel. 🩶 Aan onze Chef Eddy, Woorden voelen vandaag te klein. Plots ben je er niet meer. En is er iets verdwenen wat niet te vervangen is. Meer dan tien jaar stond jij aan het hoofd van ons keukenteam, maar dat was nooit zomaar een functie. Jij wás de keuken. De motor, het hart, de ziel. Jij gaf alles wat je had — altijd, zonder voorwaarden. Werken tot het uiterste, dag in dag uit, niet omdat iemand het vroeg, maar omdat jij gewoon zo was. Je passie voor eten was puur. Je wilde dat alles klopte. Dat mensen genoten. Dat het goed was. En het wás altijd goed. Zelfs als het onmogelijk leek. Zelfs als niemand begreep hoe je het voor elkaar kreeg. Jij deed het gewoon... zandstorm of niet… the show must go on! We konden blind op je vertrouwen. Je stond er niet alleen professioneel, je stond er menselijk. Met loyaliteit. Met een groot hart. Je leidde je team met kracht! Vol overgave en na elke service was er dat moment samen — om op adem te komen… om te genieten en te lachen met een fris pintje erbij. Dat was wie jij was. Je was er voor ons in Afrika, maar ook daarbuiten. Altijd beschikbaar. Altijd bereid. Altijd “het komt goed”. Niets maar dan ook niets was te veel! Eddy, man...wat gaan we je allemaal vreselijk hard missen. De keuken maar ook RocDuMaroc en Morocco Desert Challenge zullen nooit meer hetzelfde zijn. Niet stiller, maar wel leger. Want jouw energie, jouw aanwezigheid en jouw temperament— die waren uniek. Je was een groot man. Met een nog groter hart. We zijn enorm dankbaar dat we jou hebben gekend!
