Kai has been the bassist for the John McLaughlin Trio, Wayne Shorter, Billy Cobham, Zakir Hussain, Patrice Rushen, Bela Fleck, Bill Frisell and many other musical giants. It’s been a massive privilege to be his student, and now to share a stage with him.

i am beyond honored to be one of the few awarded the 100-percent-merit full scholarship to berklee college of music.
a year ago i was struggling with the severe cognitive form of long covid which made it near impossible to think, talk, walk or even play music. it forced me to take 2/3rds off my senior year, making me question everyday whether i’d ever play music the same again.
but through rigorous smart and hard work, as well as love, guidance and support from my teachers, friends and family, i am truly stronger, wiser and better than i’ve ever been. And to recieve an almost quarter-million-dollar scholarship based purely on my musical abilities from the only college i’ve ever applied to seems to be affirmation of just that.
i have so much love and gratitude in my heart for all of you, whether yall know it or not 🫶
