Design Trust Exhibition 2026: “The Art of Movement” Rocco Yim has been invited to attend the Hong Kong Architectural Legacy Symposium 2026 as one of the speakers The Hong Kong Architectural Legacy Symposium is a curated event held by Design Trust on April 9. It is a key part of the larger exhibition and community platform titled “The Art of Movement,” which explores Hong Kong’s urban dynamism and architectural evolution from the 1980s to the present day. During the Forum, Marisa Yiu moderated a discussion titled “ The Making of Central District: Foster + Partners legacy, Innovation & Sustainability through Time” The panel examined how architectural shifts in Central reflect Hong Kong’s historical evolution and how the interplay between heritage and innovation defines the city’s unique identity. Distinguished speakers included Donald Choi, Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Authority and former Foster + Partners architect who participated in the design of Hong Kong International Airport; Penelope Seidler, Architectural Design Partner for the Hong Kong Club and recipient of the 2026 Design Trust “The Art of Movement” award; David Nelson, Senior Executive Partner and Head of Design at Foster + Partners; Henry Steiner, HSBC’s visual identity designer, and his wife Margaret Steiner; and Rocco Yim, Principal of Rocco Design Architects Associates. The event paid tribute to the guest of honor, Lord Norman Foster, recipient of the Design Trust Legacy Award 2026. During the event, Foster shared insights on the enduring legacy of architectural design and the profound connection between design and the human experience. @designtrust #DesignTrust2026 #theArtofMovement #DesignTrustExhibition2026

83 King Lam Street won the HKIA Award of Hong kong Office Building category 2025. A very significant recognition for COLLECTIVE, who is the Design Architect for the Architecture and Interiors of the podium, including the public steps, landscape, auditorium, co-working space, lobby and signages. COLLECTIVE is also responsible for the interiors of the twin towers. COLLECTIVE partnered with Rocco Design Architects, who is the Design Architect of the twin towers and the Executive Architect of the project. We are very thankful for New World Group to have placed COLLECTIVE, a team of rising and creative architects together with Hong Kong's most celebrated and experienced architects to form a design partnership 7 years ago. We would also like to thank the team at COLLECTIVE, to all who have contributed through these years. 83 King Lam Street consists of a major podium for a set of new commercial office twin towers situated in the old industrial heartland of Cheung Sha Wan, redefining the new “Privately-Owned-Public Spaces” in Hong Kong. A PIXELATED LANDSCAPE Forming the centerpiece of the podium is a cascading landscape of steps – the ‘feature steps’ – which rhythmically winds its way up and down, left and right, connecting each level of the separated podium. Its parametric surface is expressed as a series of pixelated steps with varying heights, thereby creating a landscape of stairs, seats, and planters. At the top of the podium, the pixelated steps conglomerate and blend into the site’s rising green back-drop. This fabricated landscape is meant to be an intentional extension of the natural green mountainside into the city’s urban fabric and effectively linking the base of the two towers. AUDITORIUM Inserted below the Feature Steps are two connected interior auditorium spaces – the upper and lower auditorium. The two spaces may be used as a single event space or partitioned to be used separately. photos @tianfangfang2019 #COLLECTIVE #Collective_Studio #hkiaawards2025 #83kinglamstreet #roccodesignarchitects #hongkongarchitecture

We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the prestigious HKIA Medal of the Year for our work on the Art Museum of The Chinese University of Hong Kong – Lo Kwee Seong Pavilion! This new pavilion seamlessly connects with the existing Art Museum Complex, embodying the theme “Upon Heritage Stems New Marvels.” It enhances the cultural landscape by fostering appreciation for Chinese art and culture while preserving the natural environment.Inspired by traditional Chinese aesthetics, the pavilion features elevated spaces, a grand staircase, and multiple cultural areas, including the Harold and Christina Lee Gallery, a café, artist studios, and more. The design encourages spontaneous encounters with art, enriching the visitor experience. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this vision, making it a reality. Here’s to continuing our journey of pushing boundaries and creating lasting impacts! #hkiaawards2025 #hkia #art #museum #architecture #community #culture #hongkongarchitecture #cuhk #cuhkartmuseum #roccodesignarchitects

83 King Lam Street | HKIA Award of Hong Kong - Office Building The development situates in an urban context with a hustle and bustle Ching Cheng Road at the north which segregates the site from the mountain the design targets to reconnect nature with the city, through creating an urban oasis with a distinct architectural setting Two towers of same height but different footprints are positioned at an angle to form a communal space in between by using cantilever form, the towers not only gain more office space at high levels but also free up the ground floor for different kinds of activities and functions, also it generates an interesting architectural dialogue between two towers the courtyard formed by two towers is three dimensionally expanded as a 2 storey stepping form podium with F&B functions and podium garden for the enjoyment of the public the proposed development will ultimately generate a sustainable, livable and vibrant office and commercial precinct which becomes a new district focus. @new.world.group @collective_studio #hkiaawards2025 #hkia #83kinglamstreet #office #commercial #architecture #community #hongkongarchitecture #roccoyim #roccodesignarchitects

East Kowloon Cultural Centre | HKIA Award of Hong Kong – Civic & Communal Building East Kowloon Cultural Centre (EKCC) serve as an “Urban Connector”. It is highly permeable, connecting seamlessly with the transportation nodes, forming an elevated pedestrian link – the “Art-link”. By intentionally bringing daily commuters through the Centre via a public route that intertwines but does not conflict with the activities of event users, the EKCC cultivates a culturally immersive environment that encourages interactions and encounters. The main foyer connecting all venues serve as an iconic space for cultural happenings. Multi-level open spaces including roof garden, open deck and ground level plazas offer opportunities for all kinds of outdoor activities. The design of EKCC seamlessly infuse art and culture into the community. #hkiaawards2025 #hkia #culturalcenter #architecture #community #culture #hongkongarchitecture #ekcc #roccoyim #roccodesignarchitects

East Kowloon Cultural Centre | HKIA Award of Hong Kong – Civic & Communal Building East Kowloon Cultural Centre (EKCC) is a cross-district cultural hub for performance and community events. It houses five performance venues of various sizes with professional equipment to accommodate art groups of different scales. The architectural vision is to create a “Hub for All”, a place for ideas collision, in which creative sparks are generated and radiate through the “windows of art” to the neighbouring districts and beyond. #hkiaawards2025 #hkia #culturalcenter #architecture #community #culture #hongkongarchitecture #ekcc #roccoyim #roccodesignarchitects
