“My mother studied ballet, and I’ve loved it since I was young. The delicacy of ballet and the precision of its positions have had a big influence on my style. A ballerina’s beauty is mostly in her leg movements, so I wanted to match that beauty using my arms. The style I developed eventually led to collaborations with high fashion and music icons, but my experience with M — Madonna — was especially memorable. I was proud that she recognized my style and chose me for it.”

These designs weren’t planned from the beginning—they just happened naturally as I built emotional bonds with these artists. “I’m fascinated by implants and crazy body modifications. A few years ago, I implanted a microchip in my hand. It can store small amounts of data, like a link to my Instagram page. Eventually, I want to become Japan’s first person with a built-in transportation pass. I also had the whites of my eyes tattooed. It wasn’t painful, but it was intense. Strangely enough, most people don’t even notice it. My tattoos and implants attract more attention.”
