THE EDITORS AWARDS HAVE FINALLY ARRIVED (and honestly, Tá mé buzzing!) This is one of my personal favourite moments of the year, where I get to SHOUT about the artists who shaped our pages (and our playlists) 🗣️
EP’s, albums, visuals, live gigs, photography, poetry, and every creative curveball in between. These awards are our way of saying thank you to the people who made this year feel alive.
We’d also like to give a COOLOSSAL shoutout to every single person who submitted work, press releases, news, and interviews to VOID this year. You kept my inbox full, my head spinning (in a good way!) and me inspired. Thank you to all of you. Stay loud, stay unique, and have a healthy, wild, and creative new year!

Fifty years on from its release, Why Can’t We Be Friends? by @wartheband doesn’t feel like a relic. It feels like a mirror. The messages the band laid down in 1975 still resonate today, not just as nostalgia, but as urgent reminders of the power of music to confront and connect.
Our editor spoke with founding member of WAR, @lonniejordanwar to discuss the albums longevity and importance during the current global climate.
Rob: “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” remains as relevant today as it was in 1975. As you mark its 50th anniversary, how do you reflect on the song’s legacy in today’s social climate, and what do you hope a new generation of listeners takes from it?
Lonnie: The song speaks for itself, and I believe that the song will keep drawing attention over time, and the majority of a new generation will open new doors for a more peaceful climate toward the future.
For the full feature article and interview, head on over to our website to listen to the music and discover what Lonnie had to say.
Tickets for WAR’s @academydublin Show Wednesday 2nd July are on sale now via Ticketmaster 🎟️
