It was wrong then and it’s wrong now. The Greens have consistently opposed the North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment and we won’t stop standing up for our Parklands. #StopTheChop
You want the truth? Labor’s on track to win the state election in a landslide.
But if they do, will anything change?🤷♀️
The Greens are pushing for real action on the cost of living, the housing crisis, and the toxic algal bloom.
If you want change, you have to vote for it. You can do better with The Greens.

Prisons belong in public hands! Thank you to the @psa_of_sa General Secretary Charlotte Watson and Assistant Secretary Celia Broughman for meeting with me today to talk about their union’s campaign against the privatisation of the Adelaide Remand Centre.

Thank you to the Pirltawardli Collective for organising today’s peaceful gathering on Kaurna country. Lots of support for protecting our public green space and saving Possum Park. Stop the chop Mali!
Thank you @alex.frayne for allowing me to share this stunning photo of a Possum Park gum. It really captures the beauty & majesty of these trees.
Reflecting on the events of the last week, it’s hard not to feel helpless but now is not the time to give up.
For me, trees represent connection, strength and resilience. These are the things that we need to draw on in the days ahead.
The Malinauskas Government will be planning to axe even more trees to make way for MotoGP and have demonstrated over the last 4 years that they view the parklands as nothing more than free land to accomodate their pet projects.
Through their actions, Labor have shown a contempt for our public green space. It’s even more galling that this is being done to redevelop a golf course. $45m of public money being wasted while we have nurses fighting for fair pay, people sleeping on the street and so many South Australians struggling to afford the basics.
Lots of people have reached out asking what can be done. Now’s the time to get active.
Reach out to your local member of parliament and urge them to oppose the golf course redevelopment and future land grabs. Turn up to rallies and protests to make your voice heard. Join environmental groups. Join the Greens so we can continue to grow our movement.
In the Parliament, the Greens will continue to take action. On Wednesday we have a motion going to a vote in the Upper House urging the Government to dump this golf course plan and return the parklands to the city council. We have also introduced a bill that would finally add the Adelaide Park Lands to the state heritage register.
The events of the last week are devastating but there is always hope. It’s been inspiring to see so many South Australians engaged in the debate about the future of our parklands. Thousands protesting on the streets, engaging in peaceful direct action and calling out this destruction. It’s clear that a real movement for change is growing.
Parliament makes the laws but it’s the community that drives change. Let’s keep working together to finally give the Adelaide Park Lands the protection they deserve.
