Peter Doherty is a sweet, genuine, and kind soul. He was super dedicated to whatever he was trying to accomplish and one of my best friends (if not number 1). Pete and me shared lots of moments over the years. Especially over the past few. He is a pillar in the Westchester skate community. Everyone that knew him or skated with him knows that he didn’t harbor any aggression towards others and would give his completely new skateboard and the shirt off his back if it would help anyone in anyway. Selfless. That’s just how he was. It’s a tragedy that he isn’t with us anymore. This is one of my favorite videos of Pete. October 2019. Pete and Me had been talking about the idea of filming like a 30 for 30 type thing for our birthdays which were 5 days apart. I was turning 31 and Pete was turning 34. I filmed mine at New Rochelle skatepark like the day before my birthday I think with @cvharris2 and filmed his in return cause we have the same birthday. Pete got there just after we finished filming and I didn’t get to film him that day. Over the next couple days we were both just busy and it wasn’t easy to link up for a sesh. So the evening before his birthday Pete goes out on his own and did 34 flat ground tricks. I was jaw dropped cause I couldn’t even think of 34 flat ground tricks let alone have them in my trick vocabulary. It was pouring out and I get a call from Pete being like “I did it man…”. Dude did 34 tricks, half of them on a broken board, in the middle of the rain. It was just really amazing to see that amount of dedication. No one I know was about making it happen as much as he was.
