LIGHTWORKS is excited to announce our participation in VOLTA Basel 2026 this June in the Frische section.
Presented under the curatorial theme "Structures of Being", the booth brings together works by Ruth Maria Obrist and Rob Omodiagbe in a powerful dialogue exploring identity, memory, emotional architecture, and the complexity of the human condition.
Through sculpture and painting, "Structures of Being" reflects on the ways we construct and protect our inner worlds. Ruth Maria Obrist’s sculptural works investigate the idea of home as both psychological shelter and fragile emotional structure, while Rob Omodiagbe’s expressive figurative paintings externalise contemporary life through humour, vulnerability, social commentary, and raw emotional immediacy.
Together, the presentation creates a psychological landscape balancing structure and spontaneity, silence and voice, order and chaos.

I’m now represented by Galerie94 in Switzerland.
I’ve only been doing this for two years. One downside to this is that sometimes I think a painting is finished too early (call it ‘premature joculation’). So here, again and finally, is ‘Stumble’.
“For selfish reasons, he let the wrong woman love him. Then took love for granted until it stopped.”

She sipped her Manhattan, smiled, and then confessed, ‘’I’m not actually 48. I’m 53.”
Moments later, she reached into her handbag and pulled out an electric fan…
