Off and running today. I know everyone is busy, but would be great to have friends come by the campaign HQ at 1 Leaside Park, get some exercise putting up signs or knocking on doors, or bringing some food for volunteers. I will be a bit busy... but never too busy for you!
A perfectly lovely birthday spent in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with Gwyn Kutz, our Chargée d’affairs, and foreign ministers allcharged with bringing peace and stability to our world as we counter malicious forces. A very good day with good company.
My Mum on her 95th Birthday. She had a great day with family and friends. The way she always liked to celebrate. Suspect she had also just given me some political advice. Miss that! Here's to all the mothers and those who mother us when ours are gone!
I feel so lucky to have had Trevor Harrison in my life for so many years. This pic is from 2012 with Marco Fiola and friends Sally and Patrick at the convention in Vancouver that confirmed Michael Ignatieff as our Leader. Trevor's journey since then has been long and at times difficult but his unfailing grace, tenacity, courage and strength kept, not only him going, but also his wonderful family and dozens and dozens of close friends. Much love and admiration to his loving, devoted and equally strong wife, Kaisha, who shared him with us for so long. I have lost a friend. Our country has lost a wonderful public servant, and, while diminished, we are all the better for having had him in our lives. He will rest in peace.
Can't say it is simple cottage fare, but very fun to make cassoulet with duck confit tonight. Bistro comes to Lake St. Peter. A nice break cooking beans after a busy foreign affairs week.
