Too many trade shows, not just in the Live Production space, but in general, are too safe. Not allowing our friends and colleagues the space to communicate about real world issues affecting the industry is a sure way to never progress.
Open and honest conversations about our trade is the only way forward.
@liveproductionsummit 2026 was a great example of this experience. This show gets such a wonderful cross section of the touring, broadcast and trade show community, but the broader appeal to me, is the very “real” nature of the talks.
This panel started with just
@cosmosaic and myself.
@tour_pros Chris Musgrave added
@jamesjamesjamesld to the equation, who we had not met to this point. Very quickly noticed a kindred spirit and a kind soul.
Around 2pm or so, two of the best friends you could ask for, one
@kelrock1953 and
@_bryan_hartley , made the 9 Hour round trip, just to come support us on the panel and the awards ceremony. Fresh from the annual and grueling touring schedule of Trans Siberian Orchestra.
Cosmo, James and I couldn’t help ourselves and drug the two of them reluctantly up front with us and had the most amazing chat, and went well beyond our already rescheduled hour of talks.
The turn out was great
The questions were fabulous.
@jamesjamesjamesld was an amazing moderator.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored, attended, voted, nominated, drove, flew, spent their hard earned money to learn or to give back, the students from Future Forward (we loved to speaking to you all!), and especially
@tour_pros Chris Musgrave, Mario Educate, the fearless leader of OSA.
