以除夕團圓飯作為拍攝的核心場景,刻意不呈現亞洲傳統節慶的樣貌。畫面中的充氣娃娃,象徵每逢團聚時,那些以關心為名、不斷提問與評價的親戚,以及那個始終無法被解放的自己。被壓抑的感受,如同矽膠般緊貼與束縛。
有時還必須交代自身的成績,訴說此刻過得多成功;在那一瞬間,虛偽異常地膨脹。
This work takes the New Year’s Eve reunion dinner as its central setting, deliberately avoiding the conventional visual language of Asian festive traditions. The inflatable dolls within the frame symbolize those relatives who, under the guise of care, constantly question and evaluate others at every gathering—alongside the self that has never been able to break free. Suppressed emotions cling and constrict like silicone.
At times, one is compelled to account for personal achievements and to narrate how successful life appears in the present; in that very moment, falseness expands to an abnormal degree.
