More than a year ago, I knew I wanted to make an EP called In the Key of a Broken Heart. I had the songs, I had the feeling. I just needed the right people around me to bring it to life.
Per and I created the concept and I called on Thijmen Poirrié and Nico Bordeaux, my writing team, to help me finish what I’d started. Together we shaped this EP into what it is now: a journey through heartbreak. From sadness and loss, to acceptance and finding your strength again.
None of this would have sounded the way it does without producer Silas Houtman. An incredibly funny, grounded and humble guy who understood exactly what this EP needed to be. Surrounded by some of the best musicians I know: Ivo Schols, Rick Linzel, Thijmen Molema, Mees Booden, Daniel Zonjee, Kees Duyts and Yannick van ter Beek. Mixed by Jan Pronk at TCC Studios and mastered by Pier-Durk Hogeterp.
Big shoutout to Carlijn Andriessen for the photoshoot, and to my mum for helping me design the covers. To Lloyd Records for always believing in me. And a massive thank you to Voordekunst and everyone who donated to the crowdfunding campaign.
Yesterday we played the release show and honestly, it was so much fun. I really hope to see you at one of my shows this year. Next one is May 30th in Leusden. CDs available at the merch table!

🔥 Afgelopen tijd hebben we met artiest @RobinStormusic twee sessies gedaan om van zijn optreden een ervaring te maken!
In de eerste sessie zoomden we in op de ervaring die hij wil neerzetten en het publiek wil geven en hoe hij dit kan vertalen naar de elementen van live. 🎶💭 In de tweede sessie (foto) zijn we aan de slag gegaan en hebben we in 3 uur aan zijn show gewerkt in @GigantApeldoorn ! 💪🏼
