School’s Out y’all did it again! This year we raised a record breaking $900,000 for @hmiyouth and @hetrickmartin !!! What an inspiring afternoon full of community and activism to support LGBTQIA+ Youth in NYC. And big thank you to the HMI team for having me again to help with silent auction and to our amazing sponsors and hosts!

I sometimes find it hard to celebrate myself in any occasion let alone my birthday. This has been a whirlwind of a year, and I am thankful for life, my friends, family and community and the ability to perform and create. I have had remarkable highs with being able to perform and getting to travel, but also extremely low lows.
This look is inspired by the sometimes distorted thoughts that can take over my brain, causing me to spiral. I had a dream about this and immediately woke up to draw the concept of being trapped in my own head. But nevertheless “bubbles” and “thoughts” still peak out whether good or bad. I applied the numerous tattoos to represent how I can sometimes mask myself or my thoughts, feelings and emotions and the more that I do this the more “tattoos” appear, or the greater the mask becomes.
I think we all go through a period in our life where we experience the harsh and uncomfortable truths of reality. While we may not understand it we must continue to push forward living in our own truths while trying help others and ourselves make it through this life.
So here’s to another year older and to a year ahead of courage, persistence, dancing, being more creative, opening up and loving myself more 💛
