We’re celebrating George Harrison’s birthday with the release of ‘For the Love of George’, a heartfelt tribute to George by acclaimed Gypsy Jazz guitarist Robin Nolan. The album is available digitally and across all streaming platforms now via Dark Horse Records.
Recorded at Friar Park, ‘For the Love of George’ features ten Gypsy Jazz interpretations of classic George Harrison songs, as well as a brand-new composition crafted by Nolan from chords discovered on an envelope after George’s passing. Bringing a deeply personal connection to the project, Nolan played three of George’s own guitars during the recording sessions.

Great audiences, lovely venues, old friends, new faces and so many special moments along the way.

What an absolute pleasure it was seeing @robinnolan yesterday at a Pizza Express of all places!!
What an amazing night celebrating both @georgeharrisonofficial and Django Reinhardt in that signature Gypsy Jazz style. I was fortunate enough to have a wonderful chat with Robin and his bandmates as well as recieve a copy of his wonderful album 'For The Love Of George' on a limited edition vinyl!!
These records have been commissioned by Robin himself and made with a lot of love with art direction from @spencerjramsey it's a stunning package and will be live online very soon (stay tuned)!! - The gatefold especially is gorgeous and sports a wealth of information regarding the album 🧡

What an amazing night! 🎸 It’s not everyday you get to share the stage with your hero! I owe @robinnolan so much and wouldn’t be where I am today without him!
The night started with myself, Rob and Dave opening up and then an amazing set from Robin Nolan, Chris Quinn and Tom Moore playing songs from Robins new album “For The Love Of George”. Blending the songs of George Harrison in a Django Reinhardt gypsy jazz style. Finishing the night with us all playing together.
Thanks to Luke for doing a fantastic job on sound and all the team at the albemarle music centre.
Also a big thanks to Michael Nagasaka for filming the whole show!

We hosted the incredible @robinnolan trio at @hullmusichub , promoting his @thebeatles infused gypsy jazz album For The Love Of George.
We opened for him as @hot_club_de_hull (comprising of @lewkilvington , and myself and @oo0.david.0oo who also play in gypsy jazz duo @aint_that_got_swing_band )
We had an incredible night!!!
So much effort went into the event weeks beforehand, with us sorting the promotion, set dressing, microphones and sound setup (absolutely bossed by the legend Luke Bolton), and we all put in around a 15 hour day yesterday to make it as perfect as we could get it.
Massive thanks to Luke and to @sambriffa for being absolute dudes, and to everyone who came, and a big thank you to Robin, @chrisquinnmusic , @tommoorebass for such an engrossing and powerful performance, and for being such nice guys ☺️
We also set it up so that I could record all of the audio, and Michael Nagasaki came and filmed the whole show, so we’re going to combine efforts and produce fully mixed and edited videos of the show, keep an eye on YouTube!
