A drive through Virginia horse country and into Middleburg, VA to visit two very talented friends.
First, to see the beautiful new @shopcastlegallery opened by the talented @catherinedolaher - a warm, thoughtful space for contemporary art and collecting in the heart of town.
And inside, a stunning solo exhibition by @katharineheylart whose woven thread works balance precision, color, and emotion in such an extraordinary way.
I even spied a few @jenniferallevato pieces sprinkled throughout.
The best part is getting to witness friends building spaces, exhibitions, and creative lives that feel deeply personal and generous all at once.

Some days you remember.
This past Saturday was one of them.
A collector came into the gallery and took home 5 pieces—this one, Daydreaming, the largest of the group.
A fitting title for a day that felt a little like a dream at StudioLab.
Grateful.

Soft, verdant layers mixed on the canvas—greens, greys, siennas, creams —moving across the surface.
