This year's Mentorship Award goes to the most deserving Larry Mirkin. As a producer, writer and creator, Larry never stopped offering opportunities to new and junior writers, always finding ways to build them up and give them the experience they needed to move forward. Sugith Varughese, a creator, performer and worker for writers rights, presented the award, revealing that it was Larry who gave him his start. Old friends Kate Barris and Larry took a moment together to honour the occasion.

No pics from #TAAFI Friday - My bad. But I did see some great talks. The morning started with inspiration from Bobby Chiu (Concept artist and illustrator on projects like Alice in Wonderland, Men in Black 3, Ghostbusters, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and he co-created the Emmy winning animated show: Niko and the Sword of Light.) His big message? Just go and get started and build your audience by focusing on the things you love to draw or create. Focus and b patient.
