"La montagna non è uno sfondo, è un luogo vivo. Il vento cambia senza avvisare. La pioggia arriva all'improvviso. La temperatura scende mentre stai ancora cercando l'inquadratura.
La mente è concentrata sulla scena ma il corpo è lì, presente, esposto.
Se devi anche pensare a difenderti dagli elementi il racconto finisce. L'abbigliamento non è un dettaglio, è ciò che ti permette di entrare nella scena senza preoccupazioni: è così che una spedizione diventa possibile."

"Ci sono luoghi in cui arrivi come ospite, non come visitatore. Accolto da montagne giovani, vivaci, vive. Ad ogni passo senti di essere alla presenza degli spiriti che le abitano: gli Apu.
In quei momenti capisci che non stai solo camminando, stai entrando in un'armonia di elementi che esistono da molto prima di te. La natura non chiede di essere conquistata. Chiede ascolto.
In quel momento qualcosa cambia. Non sei solo un viaggiatore. Sei parte del luogo. Tra uomo, spirito e natura non ci sono confini: sono parte di un'unica realtà. "

In a world that moves outside of time,
you cross these valleys on foot, with mules.
It’s not about tradition.
It’s simply what works.
Slowness is often the fastest way to arrive.
Moving at another pace.
I went as far as I could, just to look at you.
I reached the Ausangate plateau at 4,500 meters, and still never saw you clearly.
Not even for a second.
You reminded me that everything has its own timing, and it rarely aligns with ours.
Not yet.
