Spring = skincare transition season ☀️ A few simple changes I make every year once the weather warms up: 1️⃣ I switch from a heavier moisturizing cream to a lighter gel-based moisturizer - personal favorite @no7usa Derm solutions 5in1 serum Less heaviness, less grease, still hydrated. 2️⃣ I add gentle exfoliation with a glycolic + salicylic acid wash This helps brighten skin, unclog pores, and smooth texture without overdoing it. 3️⃣ I restart polypodium leucotomos Think of it as internal support against UV damage — NOT a replacement for sunscreen, but a helpful adjunct especially heading into sunnier months. Your skincare routine should evolve with the seasons. Comment your changes below👇 #SkincareTips #Dermatologist #SpringSkincare #SkinCareRoutine #GlowingSkin PolypodiumLeucotomos AcneTips Exfoliation AntiAging SkinHealth DermTips Summe

I noticed some minor shedding and thinning recently (and by me actually @rogeriocavalcante told me when he was cutting my hair), so I wanted to address it early instead of waiting for it to progress. @robertfinneymd had photographed my hair over a year ago so we were able to see that it did thin just a little bit. After talking with him we decided to move forward with a series of PRP treatments combined with a topical he blended. This was my second treatment and I’m going back for a third in a few weeks. He is so speedy this video is over 2 minutes long but the actual injections are under a minute. Thank you Dr. Finney for helping me preserve my locks.

Bridal prep Q&A — Part 3 👰🏻‍♀️✨ Let me save you from predatory influencer marketing for a second. “Peptides” are everywhere right now… but the reality is, the science just isn’t there yet for most of what’s being pushed. A lot of these products: 🧪 aren’t regulated 🧪 labeled for “research use” 🧪 and you don’t always know what you’re actually getting And right before your wedding? Not the time to experiment. There are plenty of great, well-formulated topicals that already include peptides safely. Wait for the science. Don’t be a guinea pig. You only have one face. #NYCBride #BridalSkinPrep #NYCDermatologist #SkincareTruth #DermatologistApproved

If your hairline looks like it’s under attack, ask yourself one simple question: “If this gets worse… will it bother me?” If the answer is yes — don’t wait. Genetic hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) is progressive and untreated, it is undefeated. It doesn’t stabilize on its own. And by the time it’s obvious, you’ve already lost a significant amount of density. The good news? Caught early, we can often stop it in its tracks — with simpler, more affordable treatments. No need to jump straight to expensive in-office procedures. The biggest mistake I see? Guys who wait… and wish they didn’t. Save your hair. Save your time. Save your money. #hairloss #menshair #hairlinerecession #androgeneticalopecia #dermatology hairrestoration finasteride minoxidil menshealth haircaretips

If a brand has to tear down minoxidil to sell you something… that’s your red flag 🚩 We’re seeing more and more companies (supplements, lasers, “natural” solutions) subtly—or not so subtly—shame minoxidil: “Doesn’t work.” “Only temporary.” “Causes shedding so it’s bad.” Let’s be clear: Minoxidil is one of the most studied, FDA-approved treatments we have for hair loss. Period. Is it perfect? No. Does it require consistency? Yes. Does it work? Also yes. And let’s talk about cost for a second— Minoxidil is often a fraction of the price of the exact products trying to discredit it. So when a brand builds their entire pitch around why minoxidil is “bad”… what they’re really telling you is they can’t compete on evidence or price. Don’t fall for marketing dressed up as medicine. If you’re actually concerned about hair loss—skip the noise and stick with what’s proven. #hairloss #minoxidil #hairlosstreatment #dermatology #hairgrowth

Hair shedding right now? Take a breath — this can be normal. Seasonal shedding is real. Some people shed more in the spring and again at the end of summer (almost everyone does). So more hair in your brush or shower ≠ something is wrong. But if it’s: ▪️ lasting longer than usual ▪️ heavier than your baseline ▪️ or you’re seeing thinning Get it checked. We can look at bloodwork, meds, and help reduce shedding + speed regrowth. Don’t panic — just know when to act. 📌 Save this for when your shower drain scares you #hairlossexpert #hairshedding #hairlossawareness #telogeneffluvium

On this week’s episode of people trying “anything but what actually works for hair loss”… 🥁 drumroll please… nettle 🌿 As I shared in my feature with @marieclairemag there’s no real clinical evidence that nettle regrows hair — just theory + wishful thinking. Can it support scalp health? Maybe. Is it a treatment for hair loss? No. If you’re actually worried about hair loss, stop DIY’ing your way through it and see someone who knows what they’re doing. Your hair deserves better than internet guesses. #HairLoss #HairLossTreatment #Dermatology #HairCareMyths #Alopecia

Bridal prep Q&A — Part 2 👰‍♀️✨ “Is there any expensive skincare actually worth it before my wedding?” First rule: don’t start overhauling your routine too close to the big day. But… there are exceptions. Right now, while she’s doing lasers and in-office treatments, I had her add Plated Intense Serum. Why: ✨ Helps stimulate collagen (superficial + deep) ✨ Enhances results from your treatments ✨ Minimizes downtime Yes — it’s an investment. But in the right setting, it’s worth it. Before your wedding, it’s not about trying everything… it’s about choosing what actually works. Part 3: peptides 👀 #bridalskincare #bridalskinprep #summerbride #nycbride

Bridal prep Q&A with a summer bride 👰‍♀️☀️ Part 1: the non-negotiables for looking your best on the big day ↓ 💉 There aren’t many better feelings than when your Botox kicks in… IYKYK But for your wedding, timing matters more than people think. 4–8 weeks out is the sweet spot — enough time for it to fully settle and make subtle tweaks so everything looks effortless. And yes… a little in the hairline = no sweat, no makeup meltdown. ☀️ Melasma brides, this one’s for you Oral polypodium leucotomos = your sunscreen’s backup plan. Think of it as internal protection to help minimize flares when you’re in the sun all day. The biggest mistake? Waiting too long. The best results come from a plan — not a last-minute fix. Part 2 coming soon 👀 #NYCBride #BridalSkinPrep #NYCDermatologist #SummerBride #MelasmaTreatment

The internet: “Minoxidil is toxic to pets!!!” 😱 Also the internet: forgets common sense exists Yes, it can be toxic — so store it properly, clean up spills, and don’t let your pet lick your scalp. You’ll be fine. Your pet will be fine. Let’s use our heads… not lose our hair. #Minoxidil #HairLossTreatment #PetSafety #DermatologistApproved #HairLossHelp
