Close your eyes and imagine yourself walking through a perfect meadow in glorious sunshine. Rob Connor (SCO) A Scottish pianist and composer known for expressive, meditative works that blend contemporary classical language with cinematic sensitivity and emotional clarity. Matthew Mayer (US) An American pianist whose music bridges minimalism and modern classical traditions, creating powerful atmospheres through restraint, structure, and tonal depth. Leonard Lehmann (DE) A German composer and pianist creating atmospheric works that blend contemporary classical writing with ambient and cinematic influences. His music unfolds through delicate textures, slow harmonic movement, and immersive emotional landscapes, balancing intimacy with subtle electronic depth. Edoardo Gastaldi (IT) A Venice-based composer merging slow piano lines with expansive ambient soundscapes, exploring themes of fragility, memory, and inner landscapes. Closing the festival, Day 3 offers a deep listening experience — a space where time stretches, textures breathe, and the piano becomes a vessel for stillness and intensity alike.

Hey guys! Well, after quite a chaotic few months, I’ve finally had a chance to sit down and look through my performance at this year’s Felt Room 1st Birthday celebrations on Piano Day. It truly was a wonderful evening. I loved the vibe in the room ( shout out to Studio 34 @studio34_berlin for graciously letting us come and set up Felt Room in their space <3 ) and it was so lovely to stand there absorbing the energies of the performances, daydreaming about where the Felt Room project could go next. Here’s an unreleased song of mine, ‘Old Wounds’, which is from a body of work that are semi-improvised, meaning, the melody and structure is already composed, but there is a lot of space to take the music into different places expressively. ‘Old Wounds’ is one of my favourites to perform. Special shoutout and acknowledgement of the work of videographer @tim.nourrisson , who is leaving us for a while to pursue his other projects. I think we can all agree Tim established a new style for FR video content, intimately capturing the artist’s expression. The Piano Day videos turned out so wonderfully. Thank you, Tim! : Rob Connor, @robconnormusic , will be with us at the Szimpla Piano Fest, at @szimplakert , June 26–28, Budapest. Rob will play on June 27. He is a Scottish pianist based in Berlin. A wonderful artist, published by the renowned label @andantepianomusic , and founder of what is now an institution in the pianistic world, @feltroomberlin , an intimate concert place in Berlin. What else? Well, he is a fan of Ludwig van Beethoven and plays him every day. A man who loves the great Ludwig so much is definitely worth the detour. So book your plane. Rob Connor studied piano formally at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, graduating in 2013, and has performed solo classical recitals across the UK, Germany, and Switzerland. Over time, he gravitated toward more intimate performance settings, notably developing a series of relaxed piano studio concerts in Berlin’s Friedrichshain district. His creative evolution led him to integrate improvisation into his work, fostering a signature style that bridges traditional classical piano with modern post-classical, folk, and contemporary instrumental music. His compositions are often atmospheric and exploratory, emphasizing sustained mood and dynamic contrast. In 2023, Connor wrote, recorded, and produced his debut solo piano album, glimmers, in Berlin. He also founded Felt Room Berlin, a space dedicated to intimate piano-based performances designed to deepen the connection between performer and audience.
