I was scrolling IG one day and came across Marc Scibilia’s page. I’d known his name but never really listened to his music. What I found on his IG was a series of very cool, consistent content, of him performing original loops of cover songs as well as some of his originals. The moment I heard his song More To This, it resonated with me so much that I knew I wanted to work with him. I took to the DM’s and although he already has an incredible team, I was given the opportunity to spend a day with him in Nashville, TN capturing some photos, documenting, and learning more about him and his process. One of the biggest and most relevant takeaways is his unwavering commitment to consistently showing up, doing the work, and sharing it online! Something I absolutely admire and try to do in my own life for my own projects. Not only has he weathered an 18+ year career with 2 major label signings that ended in “failure”…he recognized the opportunity social media presented and began a fully committed process of SHOWING UP & DOING THE WORK and it has paid off for him in more ways than he could have imagined! While I only got to spend a few hours with him back in May of 2024, I have watched with great joy as he has since begun to tour the world and SELL OUT SHOWS EVERYWHERE! His success is a reminder to me and I believe all of us, that the power of consistently showing up on social media, connecting with your followers, and building a community, will no doubt render life changing opportunities! And just as quick as you thought you’ve won at life…the universe shifts and they are gone. Sometimes goodbyes can be a good thing. Nonetheless…it can hurt just the same or more.
