Bittersweet…but it’s time to hang up the gloves 🥊
After suffering concussion a few years back and a bad car crash earlier this month, it’s clear my brain needs the rest it deserves. As much as I wanted one more solid campaign next year, I’ve always said that if my health ever got involved, that would be it.
I am very thankful for those closest to me as well as the medical teams involved for their ongoing support as this has not been the easiest thing to navigate.
I’m beyond grateful for everything boxing has given me. It saved me. From a fat & depressed teen walking into 747Fitness with Kosta, to the crew at Morphett Vale Boxing Club (Matt, Bianca, Big J, Thomas & Helen) and finishing up with Owen & Tony at Hurricane Boxing. Every single person who’s been part of this journey from coaches, teammates, opponents, sparring partners, officials, friends - THANK YOU.
You’ve all played a part in shaping who I am today.
I was never the most talented, but worked my arse off to achieve what I did. I won’t miss a few things like cutting weight, early morning runs and questionable judging 😆
Boxing gave me discipline, confidence, and a sense of purpose. It’s been a massive part of my life and my identity, and I’m proud of everything I’ve been able to achieve.
What’s next? Maybe more coaching, maybe something new, who knows. Either way, boxing will always be part of me. 🥊
Grateful, proud, and ready for my next chapter. ❤️
After nearly five incredible years at Guide Dogs SA/NT, today is my final day 🐾
I began as an Animal Attendant and progressed through roles that continually challenged and developed me, including leading and overseeing the statewide puppy program 🐶 and qualifying as an Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist 🎓
Along the way, I balanced work with my boxing career 🥊, navigated challenges, and developed great skills around resilience, leadership, and teamwork.
Working alongside dedicated volunteers, inspiring clients, and some remarkable dogs has been an absolute privilege! Watching lives transform is something I will never forget 🧡
Thank you to everyone who supported, mentored, and trusted me through this journey.
Super excited for what comes next 🚀🚀🚀
