It is with very heavy but full hearts we have to share that our beloved Waylon has been upgraded from this world. His Highness ruled over the West Village, North Williamsburg and South Austin for almost 16 years.
He loved dive bars and fine restaurants and out of reach real estate with equal passion. He also treated every person and dog he met the same - slightly beneath him, but welcome to join him in the yard. He was such a lover of life, which came easy to him as he never really wanted for anything but more laps and more chicken.
We will miss him terribly forever, but fortunately have 37,536 photos of him to be reminded of his greatness. He charmed supermodels and rock stars, protected all the succulents and cacti from evil, and helped us all see that the grass might be greener if you just walk over there and check. Always coming home to him cuddled up with our shoes or hats was just one of the ways you knew his love was greater than 19 lbs.
Before he left us, he shared a few words. He said “Please be kind to everyone, for everyone is fighting a hard battle.” We said I think that’s Plato, and he said I don’t pay you to think I pay you cut my food and do my laundry. He also said that everyone should donate to their local shelters, we should worship the sun daily, all dogs actually do like sushi at least once a week, and OU sucks.
This legend has left a big hole that can only be filled with lots of music by his namesake and fond memories of the fancy boy comedy show that was Waylon. What a run. 🖤

Happiest Mother’s Day to the easy going breeze of a mama that is always up for whatever, whomever, whenever and finds the good and interesting in all the people. You deserve all the sunset cruises, and probably a few more phone calls a month.
