@loveisastrangerals | Ar Ais Arís⁠ ⁠ @araisarisx is a Galway based DIY electronic music night with a focus on small, safe, inclusive spaces and big soundsystems. In 2024, they also launched a record label to platform Irish club music. Flying the AAA flag in Sligo this year are resident DJs Rob Rua and Hannah Hession. ⁠ ⁠ Rob Rua is a DJ based in Galway, Ireland. He has played at parties and festivals across Ireland, the UK, and Europe including Boomtown, Outlook, Dimensions, Life, Electric Picnic, Body & Soul, All Together Now and Kallida. Rob is the co-founder and lead A&R at record labels Rua Sound, Foxy Jangle, and SPHERES with 26 vinyl releases under its belt.⁠ ⁠ Joining him is co-organiser Hannah Hession, a Galway born and based DJ who has been playing an energetic mix of bass, breaks, dembow, garage and all things in between since 2019. She has supported scene luminaries such as Pangaea, Or:la, DJ Swisha, Bianca Oblivion, X Club, Main Phase and Two Shell. Summer 2025 - I hardly knew ye 🤦

That whole dark, techy, techno sounding dnb is one of my fav things ever. It goes so hard jeez. I wish I caught more of these kind parties while I had the chance pre-COVID. I wanted to put together a mix as a bit of a tribute to that style and the whole UVB-76 gang who I still follow religiously and who still routinely turn in dj mixes, radio shows and releases I love. Big up the buzzer. I also wanted to connect the dots with that style and a lot of the Rua output from the last year or two, and place it in that context. Big influence. My guest mix on the Woozy show on Rinse is now online. I’ve been listening to Rinse for 15+ years so v humbled to get the opportunity. The mix comes in about 1hr 20. Some clips from a set I did for @kiosk.radio a couple of years back, in the infamous sauna in Parc Royale. It was during a weird transition phase from playing less ‘serious headsy music’ and more ‘ass shaking unashamed booty bangers’ 🤷😜 I enjoy DJing way more these days (headsy music 4 eva though ❤️) and just focus on making myself dance first and foremost 😊 Tracks are by: @hyroglifics @sinistarr_ @breakamusic @fruitbass and I think @landlordshousecoat (maybe it’s Touchy Subject remix?).
