When there’s an emergency on the San Lorenzo River, every second counts. This week, we teamed up with CAL FIRE, Scotts Valley Fire, Zayante Fire, and California State Parks for critical pre-incident training.
Because the Garden of Eden area is so remote, the Beach Train often acts as a "rescue vehicle," transporting individuals out of the woods to safety. We take pride in supporting our local first responders and helping them navigate the unique geography of the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Start with a scenic train ride to the top of Bear Mountain, then hike your way back into town while learning the fundamentals of safe mushroom foraging, identification, and fungal ecology. Led by Maya Elson.

All aboard the Bubble Train for a ride through the redwoods filled with zillions of bubbles. Enjoy live music with Peter Apel during a 25-minute train ride, plus a magic show in Bret Harte Hall.
Mother’s Day Brunch | May 10
