Bits and pieces from the upcoming issue 5 of Fortress. Still enjoy playing with this colour palette, but DEFINITELY looking forward to changing it up for the next story arc 😁
Unfortunately Fortress issue 5 release is going to be a little delayed. Initially due out on the 25th, work and life has had its way with this midnight & early morning comics-maker.
Expect to see Fortress 5 end of April/early May.
Apologies for the delay, and thanks to everyone that’s continued to support my book!
So much of this comic is driven by tapping into moments as a kid. Not so much out of nostalgia, but out of an effort to reconnect with freedom of imagination and play.
I would often arrange my toys in a kind of ceremonial or ritualistic way and then just stare at them and daydream. Stories would flow, scenes and scenarios would play out in my mind.
A lot of those stories I’ve hung onto, some play out in the pages of Fortress.
I think most of us would have done this in some shape or form. This is by no means a unique thought, but I think there’s so much value in remaining childlike as we get older… to retain a connection to imagination and play and daydreaming.
Almost that time… final order cutoff for Fortress 5 is the 16th. Tell your friend that hasn’t got Fortress on their pull list that they need more pink and green toned cyberpunk tomfoolery in their life. 😘
Fortress issue 5 drops in March. FOC is 16th Feb. The previews have a slightly different cover, but this is the final art. I’ve settled into a nice rhythm making this book, with drawing. But I still want to keep things a little weird, raw, unpolished. Progress over perfection as Alina says to me (thanks babe!). It’s shaping up to be my favourite issue yet.
