Experiences > Things If you think back on your own childhood, it probably isn’t the things that rise to the surface first. It’s mornings that felt different, places that smelled unfamiliar, meals that lingered because no one was watching the clock. Those are the moments that stay, because they were lived, not owned. When you choose experiences and travel, you give your kids something they can’t outgrow. Streets become playgrounds, delays become lessons in patience, and shared meals quietly turn into stories that get told for years. Nothing needs to be bought for those memories to take shape, only the decision to go and to be present. Years from now, the details will fade, but the feeling will remain, because what your kids carry with them isn’t what you gave them, it’s how it felt to move through the world together #takethekids #travelingwithkids #travelmom #familytravels

Feeling like a fairytale 🏰 🏔️ Welcome to car-free Braunwald, Switzerland, home to the cutest family hotel on earth @maerchenhotel_braunwald . When we say “family hotel,” we mean a hotel specifically designed for and catering to families that want to explore and play in one of the most awe-inspiring environments on earth. There wasn’t just a “kids club” or a family pool, it felt like every twist and turn was designed for a kid and/or parent. In fact, Märchenhotel Braunwald is part of a whole group of hotels in Switzerland dedicated to families @swissfamilyhotels . It felt amazingly validated and reassuring to have a place designed for this wild season of life. Here are a few of the amenities that this hotel offers: 🏰 small animal zoo with alpaca, llama, rabbits, goats, guinea pigs, and chickens 🏰 indoor swimming pool (open 24 hours a day!) with a tarzan course 🏰 outdoor infinity pool overlooking the mountains 🏰 gorgeous rooms - some with goats that come right up to your window! 🏰 childcare (included!!) 🏰 half-board meals 🏰 bouncy castle 🏰 large playground with slides, swings 🏰 tennis courts 🏰 scooter track We initially came across this hotel months ago and we were so pumped to collaborate with them on this stay! This was a hosted stay and we’re so grateful for the opportunity. #fairytalehotel #swissfamilyhotels #travelingfamily #familyvacations #travelingwithkids

Waking up before kids vs. after 😭 @dove #DovePartner No but seriously why did nobody warn me about that postpartum SMELL?! The one thing that has NOT changed between both versions of me is my Dove Advanced Care - it is CARRYING me through this season. 72 hours of protection because some days that’s literally all I’ve got. At least I still smell good 😂🕊️

“I can’t go, I have kids.” Italy: bring them 🤗 🇮🇹 There are places in the world where children aren’t an interruption to adult life, they’re just part of it. I used to apologize for my child in restaurants. Not out loud, exactly. I’d rush to pack up the moment she fussed, or catch the eye of the couple nearby with a look that said I know, I know, I’m sorry we’re here. I had absorbed, without realizing it, the idea that becoming a mother meant shrinking. That the world had been divided into adult spaces and kid spaces, and my job now was to figure out which was which. And then I went to Italy. And I watched kids out and about with parents at all hours. And nobody looked twice. Not with annoyance. Not with judgment. Just... nothing. Because there was nothing to see. A family was having dinner. A family was just living their lives. That was all. The frustration I’d been carrying since becoming a mother, that low hum of am I allowed to be here , wasn’t a personal failing. It wasn’t motherhood. It was just a societal norm, but not THE norm. #travelmom #travelingwithkids #familytravels #babytravel

Is Vino Sfuso the best wine deal in Italy? Your best vino deal isn’t hidden inside a Michelin-starred restaurant or behind a velvet rope vineyard tasting. It’s vino sfuso 🍷 It translates to “loose wine,” which you can think of like bulk wine. Bring an empty bottle or jug, walk into a local market or neighborhood shop, and they’ll fill it straight from the barrel by the liter. No fancy label. No marketing. No “reserve collection.” Just local wine meant to be poured generously, shared with friends, and enjoyed without overthinking it. It says a lot about Italy that some of the most affordable wine is still incredibly delicious! 📍 The local neighborhood shop in Pistoia, Italy #italianwines

Renting a boat and tracing the ragged hem of the Italian coast, past volcanic islands that smell like smoke and lemon, past little villages where someone’s nonna still makes the bread - costs less than two weeks of tetherball and bug bites at your local summer camp. I’m not kidding. You, your kids, a salty breeze, and a pile of still-wriggling sea urchins cracked open on the hull? It’s not a fantasy a it’s knowing how to game the system. Start with the flights: Dig into the Star Alliance award charts: ANA, Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles. Or tap into SkyTeam & Flying Blue, Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club. A few clicks, some transferred points, and you’re on a flight to Rome or Naples or Palermo, then wherever the road ends and the sea begins. From there, it’s simple. You charter a sailboat ⛵️, nothing fancy, just floating, and you drift. Everyone forgets Wi-Fi exists. You anchor somewhere that looks like a postcard from the 1960s. Someone brings you chilled white wine, still sweating in the bottle. The kids try octopus for the first time and don’t hate it. You realize you haven’t thought about your inbox in days. You could’ve sent them to camp. Paid for canteen credit and processed foods, watched them come home sunburnt and vaguely traumatized. Instead, you gave them a memory - something sticky and sweet and slightly dangerous, like sun-warmed figs eaten straight from the branch outside of the hills of Etna.
