A strong contender for some of the best bouldering in the UK?! · Just over a week ago we headed south for a micro holiday to Hartland Quay. Sub-optimal connies on this awesome feature unfortunately but @jonnykydd still managed to cruise around the roof and pull some great shapes 💪

We've had a bit of an Instagram hiatus over the last few months. For us (along with many others) there have been lots of changes and lots to think about. Anyway, one of the real joys of being back in the UK during this period has been exploring local climbing sites. This photo is from the first spot we climbed outside after lockdown eased, Haresfield Beacon, a beautiful area with some limestone outcrops hidden amongst the woods. One of the first thing we noticed was how achey our legs and hips were - campusing and fingerboarding had nothing for the 3D legginess of outdoor climbing!

Just SORN'd the van 😥 With tax and insurance coming up and no certain employment it seemed like the best thing to do. It feels like shutting a door, but the reality is it was probably already shut for now. And what do they say? When one door shuts, another opens... HomeRamble. Amber's workout... 💪. · Warm up: mobilise, 3x5 push ups; 2x8 shoulder shrugs; 3x4 pull ups. · Fingerboarding (Beastmaker 1000): jugs; flatties; three finger drag; bottom crimp; middle two; top crimp; front two; one arm hang alternating on jugs x2 sets. 6x7 seconds on, 3 secs off, two minutes rest between sets. · Campusing: laddering; one arm bumps; one arm max bump on big rungs working on power endurance. HomeRamble. Sam's workout of the day (from yesterday) ☀️. · Warm up: Resistance band exercises targeting arms, shoulders and back. Gentle hanging, pull ups, leg lifts and alternate leg lifts/kicks. · Front levers: (Beastmaker 1000 jugs) Until failure - 4 mins rest, repeat 2 more times. (Beastmaker 1000 smallest edges) Until failure - 4 mins rest, repeat 2 more times. You can use a pulley/resi band to make this easier, or bend legs at the knee, split or tuck the legs, bend the arms, rest feet on object etc. If you can hold the position for longer than 10 secs then increase the intensity. · Jump and Latch: (this can be replicated without a campus board if you have a fingerboard or even just an edge that you can jump to and catch) Big holds - jump and catch with one hand and pull through as far as possible, if not possible, try and match! The important bit is the first catch and hold. Swap sides, rest 2 mins and repeat 2 more times. Offset edges, small/medium - jump, catch, move and match(ish). Swap sides, rest 2 mins, repeat 4 more times. With a fingerboard this can be done by jumping to offset/different holds and then matching the higher of the two, the deadpoint catch is the focus really.
