👋 We've made the decision to make 2023 the final year of Roadkill We're so proud of all the artists we've worked with, the parties we've planned and music that's been put out into the world. We feel very grateful to have been a small part of some of the best that the DIY circuit has to offer. Running an indie is a passion project and we never needed it to be anything more, but increasingly the time, energy and cash it takes to run a label has become harder to meet. We don't subscribe to hustle culture or second jobs, but the current industry landscape requires that hobbies like ours are treated as such in order to sustain themselves. Rather than continue contributing to the constant feed of self-promotion, we would like to return to enjoying music the way it's supposed to be, as fans. Final gigs and releases will be announced between now and August when we'll throw our annual fest - a last hurrah! I've said this before, but particularly over lockdowns this was a real source of connectivity for us that helped to keep us busy and sane. Ich Bin Finn have released their debut album today, and it’s a corker. ‘Breakfast Pizza’ is a wonderfully written ode to the thin line between freedom and loneliness that comes amidst post-breakup reflections. It’s tender, astute and funny, with all the charm you’ve come to expect from the trio. Musically it veers from slacker indie-rock, to wild punk shenanigans and grungy dirges. Roadkill Finale Band Spotlight #12 💀 La Guerrera is the brand new project from writer and multi-instrumentalist DeAnna Avis. Traditional Mexicana acoustics and an eclectic array of dark, poetic anthems for outcasts. From Muertos to Brujx, thier history with Roadkill goes back to the very beginning, and this one will open the last ever gig we do.
