Creating a logo for every letter, this time; Q 🤔✍️ - Drop a comment on what you thought of this one! 👇 - The letter Q is hard in the sense that it's not a name that begins many brands, but in another sense, it's shape and the variety of different ways it can be represented make it a fun letter to toy around with and create something unique. - After doodling a little and finding some inspiration in Pinterest I really liked the idea of something calligraphic with a swooping tail, that gave me the idea to use the word 'Quill' which tied in nicely, and to me, lent itself to some kind of writing or drawing app. I chose to mock it up as a journalling app as I like the idea of the app representing the modern equivalent of a tool people have been using to share their thoughts for millennia, and keeping a journal seems to be as popular now as ever with more people seeking to become aware of their thoughts and feelings. - It's been a long time since I posted one of these to IG but I made this for Tiktok a few weeks ago and thought it would be rude not to post here too! Would love to hear any thoughts and what you'd like to see me do next, more of these? Or something else... - #qlogo #logodesignprocess #logodesigner #logoprocess #brandidentitydesigners #brandidentity #identitydesign #visualidentitydesigner

Wuli Grooming - All natural care for the curly haired 🌱💁‍♀️ - Fun fact, the name Wuli comes from Bambara, the national language of Mali, the birthplace of this company's founder. Unable to find anything that worked, Amadou came to me wanting to build a brand that catered to folks with hair like him; thick and curly, but I quickly realised it was about more than hair. He wanted to create a new morning ritual for those who'd been left out by larger brands, to instill confidence and pride, ready to make the most of the day. I came up with the name Wuli, meaning "to wake-up, get up, grow up", much like the morning ritual the brand seeks to create, and echoing the word Woolly, like the hair of the customers it serves. - I really enjoy getting to exercise my brand naming skills whenever I get the chance! And really enjoyed translating that motif throughout the brands identity with the rising sun, and bronze colour palette. - Collaborated ont this project with the wonderful @studiobymade check him out 🤘 - Let me know what you think of this project, and go check out the case study, first link in Bio. - And as always, appreciate ya designerds! 💙 - - - #brandidentitydesigners #logolounge #logolovers #brandidentity #visualidentity #visualidentitydesigner #brandcasestudy #behance #logobrand #logomaker #graphicdesignersclub #logosai #logoinspirations #branddesign

✍️ What I learned from my first time doing brand illustration! 👇 - Like many a lad, my first foray into the creative realm was sketching and drawing. I developed characters that littered the margins of my school workbooks and passed the time in chemistry developing unique ways of writing my initials. However, as time passes and your career narrows in focus, that time seems to fade into a distant memory. - So when this project came around with brand illustration as a key component, I jumped at the chance to do it myself. However, without the same streamlined process I've honed with branding work, I found myself procrastinating badly, not knowing where to start, how to turn sketches into a refined graphic, and what the right style should be. - Finally, with the deadline looming I got to work, and quickly found myself getting into that same groove I had a decade ago. I'm fortunate that the things I once did to get out of work, are now the very work I get paid to do. Quickly I learned that while it took time to understand how to do it right, fundamentally any design process follows the same arc, from discovery, ideation, to refinement, and I was far more equipped than I realised. - Odyssey's customer base is people with chronic mental health conditions who've tried conventional treatments. Therefore it didn't feel right to depict smiling faces and exaggerated, animated features as has become commonplace in corporate illustration (and a trope many have grown to hate). - Yet it still needed to be easily replicable, work in dark and light modes and depict ideas easily in the app. - 💡My solution💡 - Create characters whose proportions are closer to life yet elegantly simplified - Remove facial expressions, allowing users to project their own experience - Use black & white lines / shapes, which work just as well inverted - Begin with vectors for easy editing - Manipulate in Photoshop to remove clean edges and add printed texture for a more authentic feeling - What do you think? - #brandidentitydesign #corporateillustration #brandillustration #brandingdesign #vectorillustration #brandidentitydesigner #brandillustrator

Odyssey Project Showcase - Behance link in Bio! Swipe for more 👉 - For a project in the mental health space such as this, it was crucial not to trivialise the issues the customers face, making outlandish promises and depicting unnaturally wide grins and people walking gleefully into the sunset like many competitors. I set out to approach the identity with an uplifting yet grounded quality, the tension between these two states is exemplified in the brand's colour scheme, with an uplifting sky blue and yet a grounded clay brown. The grain texture lends a feeling that's more real to life rather than perfectly smooth and airbrushed. Finally the patterns inspired by the Greek meander patterns show finding a path amidst the fog, further extending the inspiration from the names origin from the Greek epic Homers Odyssey, detailing a long journey to find the way home. The hope is with Ketamine therapy and psychologist designed programs that the customers of Odyssey can find their way to a comfortable emotional home too 🏠 - Please check out the full case study link in Bio and let me know your thoughts on this project! - I've got one more for this project coming, keep an eye out for me posting some illustration work for the first time here 👀 - Stay curious designerds 💙 - - - #brandidentitydesigners #brandidentity #brandidentitydesign #branding #psychedelics #ketaminetherapy #behance #brandcasestudy #graphicdesigner #logodesigner #identitydesign #logoidentity

Odyssey Logo - more on this project coming soon 🤫 (I'm back? More below 👇) - This brand provides psychedelic treatment to those with depression and anxiety for whom traditional treatments (SSRI's) have been ineffective. Psychedelic compounds have shown incredible efficacy in clinical trials, but the only among them legal for use in the US is Ketamine. Using Ketamine treatment to increase the receptivity of the patient in combination with psychiatrist formulated programs Odyssey hopes to help those people who've begun to lose hope genuinely work through their issues for good. - Full case study for this project coming... - Been a while peeps! Have been replying to messages and updated my story again for the first time in ages talking about where I've been. Been an up and down last 1-2yrs for me. Learned a lot, not so much through a design lens but more generally how to handle myself in the face of uncertainty. Shoot me a message and let me know what you've been up to while I've been away and what cool shit I missed out on! - Planning to find a more consistent rhythm with socials I can keep up since it's easy to go too hard and then go MIA for a while haha, but I've loads to share with you so I'm excited to do that in the coming weeks. - Anyways, I'll see y'all soon. - Appreciate ya as always ✌️ - - - #logodesigner #logodesigners #brandidentitydesigners #brandidentitydesign #identitydesign #identitydesigner #logodesigning #logotype #logomaker #logobrand #logoconcept

Perfectionism makes us believe we must never fail, never go off course or lose our way. So when we do, we’re bound to judge ourselves harshly and become angry, failing to live up to the impossible standard we’ve set for ourselves. - Often we try to double down. If we could only control things more, try harder, work more or rely on others less than finally we could stay on the right path and never deviate. - But by beating ourselves up when we notice we’re off course, we don’t make things better, we only learn to associate the act of recognising with pain. Thus it takes us longer and longer to realise when we’re drifting, our self inflicted pain makes us numb to the signals that should show us when to correct. - This perfectionism often comes from a deep seeded belief that we’re not enough as we are. We have to be perfect in order to be loved. But the opposite is true, we must learn to show compassion not despite, but because of our imperfections. - When we do this, we can learn to cultivate a kind and gentle self awareness, that doesn’t bludgeon, but shepherds us back on course with a smile. - Be a little kinder to yourself for the stumbles, and don’t let them hold you back from trying again the next time. - - Experimenting with this as a new format peeps, there’s something about distilling the essence of an idea into a graphic like this that’s not unlike distilling a brands essence into a mark, so I quite like it. Let me know if ya dig it 💙 - #mindset #awareness #visualisation #visualizevalue #golimitless #mindsetquotes #graphicdesigninspiration #designquotes #mindfulnessmeditation #selfimprovementjourney #brandidentitydesign #creativityquotes

Step by step full brand identity redesign process! 🔈 ✍️➡️💻 - Hit the link in my bio to get in touch if your brand isn’t putting its best foot forward 💪 - It has it been a while. I’ve said that before but damn… this time for real… ahaha - Here’s a video that I shared on the ol’ tok some time ago and felt like you guys on IG the more hardcore designers would get some value from it. - Their ended up being a lot of work on this project, even though it’s an older one, at the time it stretched me to create a whole brand identity system with a cohesive narrative from design to social, messaging and naming. - Working on brand naming in projects is something I’ve been enjoying a lot, it’s a huge part of a brands identity and lays the foundation for design, also allowing me to flex some more verbal muscles 💪🔠 - For those wondering where I’ve been, honest answer is just working hard, my biz is pretty sustainable on referrals, and the longer I avoid socials the the more out of touch I feel, kinda get annoyed at myself for neglecting it and feel like I need to return with a bang. But ya know, great things never start with a bang do they? They start slow. Except maybe the universe actually… 🪐💥 - Appreciate ya as always designerds 💙 - #brandidentity #brandidentitydesign #branding #brandingprocess #brandidentitydesigner #brandidentitydevelopment #brandstyleguide #brandguidelines #corporateidentity #designprocess #logodesignprocess #logodesigner

I created a brand based on your ideas... Introducing; Burgeon Theatre! - Hey team! For those of you who aren't caught up to this point, you can check the previous few posts in my feed to see how the challenge unfolded, but this is the finale. - Once I settled on the building to use as the basis for this fictional rebrand which perfectly encapsulated the idea of adventurous yet elegant; the fisher centre, I knew the branding had to draw cues from that architectural style, designed by the great frank gehry. It started with the curved panel roof shape, which to me on it's own resembled a flower, which tied to the name burgeon which is used to describe budding flowers. However it was lacking energy on it's own, and didn't feel like it was blossoming off the page, which lead to the idea to duplicate it into the shape you see, which I love, and functions as a sort of portal from which images and graphic elements can emerge, like a birthing ground. - Next came the type and colours. To satisfy the criteria of 'make it pop' I wanted to use a bold and unusual colour palette, that challenges the viewer by completely shattering their expectations. I love the use of deep colours like the burgundy and forest green, back with lighter and brighter colours, to me it really catches the eye and gives the brand a distinctive feel. For the typography too, contrast was the name of the game, choosing a thick futuristic sans serif, with an elegant script font that hints at the tradition of the genre yet reinvented. - I then translated this into some poster designs to promote the theatre and events they host, which to me is a testament to how the mark, type and colours function harmoniously in an unexpected package. - Hey, let me know what you think in the comments, what's your favourite part? How might you have approached this brief differently? - #brandidentitydesigner #graphicdesignerslife #graphicdesignagency #graphicdesign #brandlogo #brandingdesigner #brandingdesign #branding #logocreation #graphicdesigncommunity #logoinspirations #logolove #logoideas #logomark #logogreat #logoconcept #logoshowcase #logobrand #logomark #brandinspiration #thebrandidentity #brandidentitycreation

Why did I put so much effort into one video haha - Ladies and Gents! Burgeon Theatre! For those of you have been following along (if not check out my previous two posts) I’ve been using your input to create a random brand. The brief came out as follows: - A Music Theatre brand with 15-30 employees, with an adventurous personality, an elegant look and feel, whose primary colour should be sapphire, and the special request is to make it pop. - In the last ep. I asked for feedback on the name and burgeon came out on top. When I started designing I thought I should use the architecture of the space we went with and incorporate into the design. To achieve adventurous and elegant I went with an unusual font paring and colour scheme that I think came together really well. - Overall I dig how this one came out, hope y’all like it too! - Let me know what you think in the comments below about the brand we made :) - #logodesign #graphicdesigner #designchallenge #brandidentity #brandidentitydesign #brandidentitydesigner #musictheatre #brandom #logoinspirations #learnlogodesign #logodesignprocess #logodesignersclub

Help me name the brand 🤙 - Hey peeps! Been a little while since the last episode so hope you haven’t completely forgotten it in the fast paced social media environment these days haha. In the last episode I introduced the project, this time we’re getting into the good stuff. - I prepped a list of names and their meanings which I thought had some good contenders, but I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the comments so we can get the right one :) - In the next episode it’s what you’ve all been waiting for… the design! Can’t wait for that. - @designbyideate collaborating with me on this :) - #brandom #brandidentitydesign #branding #brandidentity #designchallenge #designprocess #logoprocess #logodesigner #brandidentitydesigner #brandingmob #logoinspirations

Plum Logo and Branding! 💜 Full project on Behance (link in bio) - I think it's really important to have projects like this where you can just have fun with it, do what feels right and not over analyse. It loosens you up, where client work can often feel more high stakes, and allows you to try out skills and take risks that you wouldn't be able to otherwise. Professional athletes spend as much time drilling their skills in between games as on the court, so why shouldn't we do the same with design? - Hey peeps! Here it is, a more in depth breakdown of the Plum logo and branding I created as a lil' personal project. This has got to be one of my favourites, the way these colours go together with the gradients and soft round bubbles is just so satisfying. I really wanted to strike a balance between calming yet energetic which I feel I was able to achieve through this bold contrasting colour pallete yet with smooth gradients and round shapes. It's a drink that would fill you with energy, yet not in a bouncing off the walls kind of way. An energetic calm that makes you feel ready to engage with the world mindfully, at least that's how I see it. - Let me know what you think in the comments! Would love to get your thoughts on this style as I think it's pretty nifty and not quite like anything I've see before. - Cheers! - If you have a branding project you'd like to chat about, email me [email protected] or fill out the form link in bio. - #brandidentitydesigner #brandlogo #brandingdesigner #brandingdesign #branding #logocreation #brandidentitycreation #brandingidentitydesign #brandidentitydesigners #designingbrandidentity #brandingide #lettering #typegang #typespire #identitydesign #logoprocess #behane #logotype #letterform #branddesign #graphicdesignersclub #graphicinspiration #logodesigning #graphicdesigns #brandidentity #logotypeclub #learnlogodesign #wordmark
