Had an unforgettable evening performing in a beautiful heritage building in Owen Sound. The walls carried stories of the past as we gave back to the community with Indian classical music.

Huge thanks to David Reed from @belleville_intelligencer for the awesome review of our album, which comes out TOMORROW, DEC 1st!
Full review:
“Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist Jacob Gorzhaltsan (flute, clarinet, saxophone) leads this world-jazz trio on their debut self-titled album. Gorzhaltsan is joined by Ravi Naimpally (tabla) and Ewen Farncombe (keys). The music is loop-based, improvised, and includes influences, rhythms and sounds from around the world.
Inkblot opens with a layered saxophone loop before the arrival of the tabla (and I am unabashedly obsessed with the sound of good tabla playing.) Naimpally absolutely shines on this track.
Shadows is anchored by a mournful saxophone solo, buoyed by a wash of shimmering keyboards by Farncombe and textural tabla, before transitioning into a flute solo. Reflections opens with that same haunting flute before blossoming into something more complex.
Other highlights include Shadows, Pools, Departures and the closing number, Bazar. The music is strikingly original and the trio creates just the right amount of sound to be thoroughly compelling without ever becoming too dense. This is a fabulous record by three very talented musicians.
(PS. The world needs more tabla. Thank you, Ravi Naimpally.)” — David Reed, The Belleville Intelligencer
Only a couple of days away from the release of our new single, “Procession”! Here’s a behind the scenes clip from the recording session; unfortunately Ravi didn’t make it into this frame, and Ewen’s keys are DI (so you’ll have to imagine what he’s playing for now) — but if you listen to the end you’ll hear a sneak preview of the final result! We are very excited for this music to come out — full album hits all streaming services on DEC 1st! Stay tuned!
