Attn @rmitanimation students: Group study sessions are back, now on Friday evenings! AND your studio assistant Faith is running a peer Figure Drawing session during this Friday evening’s Study Session break! Drop in 5-9pm to catch up on homework or get study support, and/or join us at 6pm to take a break from screens with some peer figure drawing! Basic materials provided or BYO sketchbook What to expect in Group Study Sessions? Your studio assistants Faith and/or Costa will be around Lab 7.3.23 during Study Sessions to offer 2D/3D troubleshooting, general help, or how to approach a challenging task. They can even help with making a time management plan for your week ahead. Staff (Rebecca) are usually around in early evenings for additional support. You can come in for specific help, or just drop in to work with others in a supportive environment! Light snacks, break activities (sticker making) and chill tunes provided.

We are so excited to share that this Tuesday the 9th December is the Graduate Showcase Screening for the Bachelor of Design (Animation & Interactive Media) at @thecapitolrmit - come along for a fun night of animation! We have some limited tickets available to the public- link in bio & stories ! This is a free event - but booking is essential. 🗓️When: Tuesday 9 Dec ⏰ Doors Open 5pm, Screening starts 6pm (includes 1 intermission). Attention: current @rmitanimation students! As some of you may have noticed from the posters in the common area, we have two new Studio Assistants in the Animation Program, Costa and Faith! They will be available at different times during the week to help with software and technical troubleshooting, reporting IT issues on campus and communicating studio issues to staff. They will be wearing red lanyards when on duty and are happy to help, so keep an eye out! You can book a time in advance to meet with them either on campus or during scheduled times, remotely. We’re excited to share that several recent RMIT Animation graduates and students have had their work selected to showcase at the 2024 Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF) @animationfest ! Three graduate films- ‘Magick’ (by Georgiy Margvelashvili), ‘Insomnia’ (by Ruyu Fan) and ‘Felled’ (by Joy Zou- not yet pictured above) will be featured in the Australian Showcase Program, the official opening night event of the festival. We also congratulate John Morgan, Polly Reid, Gabriella Lee Sudyatmiko, Edd Atchison, Yu-En Chen and Catherine Hamilton for having their graduate projects selected for the ever popular Australian Student Showcase Program. These films were created as part of their third-year capstone projects in our Bachelor of Design (Animation and Interactive Media Program) and we are thrilled their work will be seen on the big screen by new audiences! But it’s not just graduates- a short film by third year student Sarah Lim, and the ‘WARMEN: A World of Pain’ music video by a team of RMIT Animation students, have also been selected for the Student Showcase! Congratulations to several recent RMIT Animation graduates selected to showcase their work at the 2024 Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF) @animationfest ! Costas Lambrou's graduate film 'As Above, Do Not Know' has been selected for the Australian Showcase, the official opening night event of the festival. Costas will also be featured in a Meet the Filmmaker session on May 6 at The Backlot Studios - tickets available via @animationfest We also congratulate Eloise Lohrey, Catherine Ta, Aeukan Udompitisup, Caz Weng, Rachel Huang, Yunlin Bai, and Tori Huynh for having their graduate projects selected for the ever popular Australian Student Showcase Program.
