Hey everyone id like to introduce myself. I'm a father, artist, native brown man. I'm 38. I live in woodlawn. I have a simple life were I work and act up and if there is time left over i read. I been a full time artist for 7 years. The easiest way I can describe my work is brown Narnia. Trenza Magick. When I was young I watched alot of TV and had plenty of time to be alone and take all that in and soak all the Frontera funk ( as @zpvisual calls it) that is el paso.i moved to 210 at age 10 and was pretty much your typical knock off for almost the next decade and a half. I left to Houston for school.i wanted to be a writer ever since I learned how to read. My visual work takes alot of direct influence from rudolfo anaya.check him out. In Houston i took the knocking off to the next level. Moved back and had the boy and then finally started getting my shit together. Got a house. Worked a tax paying job.then a few years later I dropped it. And been at this art thing ever since. Ever year new shit comes up and there's constant recalibration. There long hours. Heartbreak. And good times and fun. I get asked for advice and I really don't have any "that's it!" Secret. All I can say is stay loose never drop your hands. Things will get good once you commit to doom yourself to it. Anyway I'm rudy ✌🏾😎

The last parade. 75'x105'. Latex on brick. Yesterday I went to the doctors. I was getting my vitals and answering some basic question and the occupation question came up I say "artist" one of the ladies in the room is like " oh like portraits" I say " naw. I do like cartoony stuff. Colorful stuff" then the other lady in the room immediately ask the lady asking me stuff if she has seen all the new murals downtown. They talk about some of the ones on Flores and some of the ones on st.marys then they start talking about the last parade.im kinda waiting for a pause to say " I painted that!" But it doesn't happen. One of the ladies hasn't seen it but the other has. She even took her daughter to it and showed us some selfies they took.so I just chill and listen to them talk about it. "It's weird but it's pretty" "I like her earrings" and also "they should have made it bigger". Then they both just leave and tell me to wait for the Dr. So I looked at my phone and realized I never took a pic of it finished.how did that happen! I think it's cuz when your in it, it a takes a while for it all to settle and come into focus and see what happened.for me it came into focus right there. And what happened was i painted a mural that some lady took her daughter to to takes pics in front of. And that's dope. #210
Shout out to @centrosanantonio for the opportunity and my personal photographer @canonkrook87 for this pic
Earlier this year I finally finished up this building I had been working on and of of for a few months.some some homies came threw and painted some stuff on there too.tbh it was a little tricky to come up with a bunch of little pictures/stories to fit all the planes so man I'm thankful they came threw.there is a lot of cool murals on the strip but I'm pretty sure this mural is the only mural with an uncircumsised penis. #marketing #decolonognizeyourpeepee #muralist #muralcoordinated #imnotahero #mural #210 #publicart #urbanspraydesign #contemperarysprayapplication photo by @leavitt2mephotography

When I miss u I always miss me too. Ink and watercolor on viynl.
Im 40 now and im old. I say that in a good way. its a blessing. In fact I've lived longer then almost all the Herrera men before. In my youth my favorite thing to do was act up! All the way up! I look back and miss those times. Yeah it cost me,but i also can say I got the most life out of those moments and I feel good about how all that has aged me or atleast am at peace with it. And as I tio more, I miss it but I dont long for it. I miss it like when tacos were 3 for a 3 dollars. Like when the truck was running real smooth. It was just that time. I think aging as healthy tio is knowing how to miss and love things and understanding its gone so u can have space for the rn that you'll hopefully miss. I miss getting wild and I miss holding the boy with his little chupón. Now im old and docile with my glasses on. The boy is as tall as me and has his own interest. Im glad I have things to miss. Im glad one of those things is me.

Happy tio. 8"x10". Ink on handmade paper. Inside every brown man there are 2 tios. One is angry at the circumstances and begrudgingly does what he has to do for your your sake because this is the only way he knows how to show love. The other tio is proud of u and spends most of his time gathering up the courage to tell u he loves u and it spills out when he's drunk and braver. They both love u in a way. Sometimes the happy tio is louder then the sad tio. Thats the case this time.
Its up at the homie dez show @thegoldenrose_satx tonight. All the $$ made at the show goes to those in the imagration struggle going on rn. Alot cool art going up at a good price. Yall look out for each other cuz we all we got.
