We are so grateful for all those companies and individuals that came out to our trap shoot and sponsored lanes, at the beginning of October. It was a perfect day! What an amazing and fun group of people to be around. We were so tickled that we could donate Building Utah Youth with a check that was at least twice more than what we brought in last year. Thanks again!!

David Steward shared the following quote and insight:
“ ’The first method for estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him.’ – Niccolo Machiavelli
I recently read this in a daily post that I subscribe to with Larry Janesky. It made me reflect on those that I have surrounded myself with. I’m not suggesting that I am exceptionally intelligent, but the people that I work with ARE exceptional. I have been blessed to work for the past several years with the most amazing people. People I have come to love and respect. People I would go to the ends of the earth for and I suspect they would do the same for me. I have often heard that greatness comes from within, but I believe that greatness also comes from without. From those with whom you associate that encourage and push you to be your better self on a daily basis. Make sure you take special care to affiliate with and surround yourself with the best people. Be the kind of person that others want to be around. Encourage, uplift and support those who chose to be around you. I believe with all my heart that this is how you truly become great.”

RMCE is excited to welcome Quinton Gleave to the RMCE team! Quinton is our newest Electrical Designer for Wyatt’s team. Way to go Quinton!!
Quinton has always thought about entering the electrical engineering field because he grew up around his dad who is an Electrical Engineer. Quinton is planning to go back to school soon to start an Engineering Degree.
Quinton’s hobbies consist of creating things with his 3D printer to baking bread, he likes to play video games and help his father with projects around his parent’s home.
We are so enthusiastic that Quinton can join our team! We are looking forward to his willingness to learn new things or learning to view things differently.
Please help us welcome Quinton to our RMCE Team!

David Steward, RMCE’s CEO, shared the following: “The Lesson is in the Struggle – We all find ourselves at different times in our lives wondering why things can’t be going better. I have heard many people ask if they are being punished because things in their life or certain situations are not going the way they would want them to. I think it is very important to take a step back when we find adversity in our life. Look at the situation from a different perspective and ask yourself, “is there a better way to do this?” Just because things are not going right does not mean that you are doing something wrong. Many times, circumstances develop that we have little or no control over. I look at these situations as learning experiences and ask myself, “what can I learn from this experience?” Is there a lesson that I need to learn so that I can be better prepared if this happens again in the future? If you make a mistake, OWN IT! Don’t place blame on others or look for the easy way out. We develop when we learn how not to do something. Humility is not a pleasant teacher, but it is an effective one.”

Wanted to send out a huge Thank You to the Utah IES chapter for putting on a great golf tournament! We had fun shooting off Gel Blaster guns (don’t you love how we tied down the targets?) while talking to many people who came to play. We enjoyed handing out swag and taking work calls from the golf cart. We enjoyed spending just a little more time with our co-workers (and matching colors, which don’t they look fabulous?!?) and clients. The day was beautiful! Thanks again Utah IES!

Nate Fonger, one of our electrical designers, shared the following quote by Mark Twain : "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover."

Matter of Perspective – Indecision is something that we all suffer from time to time. Should I do this or is this the best option questions plague us all. I recently came across an article that talked about a 10-10-10 method to shift one’s perspective and give us a better idea of the impact of our decisions. This method was developed by Suzy Welch. The premise behind this method is to ask yourself you’ll feed about a decision in 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years. As you face making a tough decision ask yourself these questions…How will I feel about this in 10 minutes? How will I feel about this in 10 months? And How will I feel about this in 10 years? If the answers to all of these questions are positive then you have a better foundation upon which to make your decision. If the answers to any of these questions lead you down a path that isn’t in the direction you want to be going, it is good feedback to help you shift your perspective and make a more thought out decision. Bad decisions are not always easy to endure, but they definitely give us experience that helps us with making future decisions.
